- Cronulla had to win to stay in the finals race.
- Norths showed great character, and were in control throughout.
- The Bears' tackling was just too good... until the last 90 seconds when a sweeping Sharks attack brought a try for right winger Jim See - and as good as the Sharks have scored this year.
- Mullane had a whale of a game for the Sharks, running the ball up in outstanding fashion.
