From RLW:
  • It was like a play of three acts - Act One went to Cronulla, leading 10-2 after 20 minutes. Act Two went to the Rabbitohs - 12-10 after 34 minutes. 26 scoreless minutes followed, before the Sharks won the climactic Act Three.
  • A 'conspiracy' between Dane Sorensen and Rowland Beckett provided the break-through, through a tap-move.
  • McNamara wrapped up the game, carrying half the Souths pack over the line to score a late try.
  • A new ball which was slippery as an eel didn't help the handling, with even super-safe Steve Rogers decking several passes. However, 'Sludge' did catch one of the best of the day, off Kurt Sorensen in the first half, then sliced past Steve Walsh to score a dashing try.
  • "They did a top job," said Greg Pierce of the Cronulla pack.
  • Peter McNamara had one of his best games, while Kurt Sorensen was back to his early season form.
