  • It took Cronulla more than an hour to score, despite Penrith having the worst defensive record in the competition.
  • Jarvie was the most inspiring player in the Sharks' backline. His enterprising bursts from the left wing always had the Panthers on the hop, and it was his magnificent dive in-goal that saved a certain try to Brad Izzard.
  • Miller topped the tackle count with 39, and made some neat runs.
  • Kurt Sorensen was only fair at lock in the first half, but better in the second.
  • The Sharks' clung to the trusty boot of Steve Rogers, who kicked three penalties to have the Sharks leading 6-0.
