  • There wasn't a point scored in the second half, but that didn't stop it being one of the most exciting 40 minutes seen this season.
  • A highlight was at least half a dozen magnificent catches of Ken Wilson bombs by Cronulla fullback Mick Mullane.
  • Newtown were at one stage reduced to 10 players, with Mal Graham sent off, Ken Wilson sin-binned and Graeme O'Grady out for the count. However, Newtown received four of the final five penalties.
  • The Sharks never got going - the forwards were sluggish and the backs hesitant; the side needs a shake-up.
