Yeah Robbo was down that play where Arona kicked it, I think he noticed the gap in our line and panicked.

Arona is more than depth. I will not easily forget the fact that he was our amongst our best players last year up until around the origin period. 17 minutes doesn't really do him justice, but he'll be real handy in case injuries impact us, or around Origin period.

This. Arona was one of the few positives for us in the early stages of 2014.

Even when his form 'dropped' he was still solid.

The guy can also cover dummy half which will be important if Ennis goes down mid game. (I understand that Robbo can scoot into hooker but that would leave us without a halfback.)

Didn't realise we actually had a halfback...

Doesnt really fix the halves situation.

Barba has played more 6 than 1 in his career. Time for him to just man up

That just confirms why I don't watch or listen to anything with Matt John's involved.

One round in and people lose their ****. In one game Barba laid on two tries with two passes.

He overcooked his kicks yep and one cost us a try (although how you ****ing don't know that fullback will be coming back at full tilt after catching the ball on the full is beyond me) but he was creating space for Ricky and Feki all night.

He does need to use both sides of the field but he didn't miss a tackle so all in all it was a pretty decent start he will only get better. There is a reason Andrew is coaching and Matt is getting paid to talk **** its all he can do.

It's pathetic really. I can't believe the dribble so called experts are going on about regarding Barba and Milford after one game.

Yes it was a very poor kick but the try wasn't his fault.

Take away the three kicks

where he didn't find touch
kicked out on the full
the ordinary bomb

He more than had a pass mark for the game, if he can work on his kicking that alone will make him a very valuable player to our team not to forget his footwork & speed, back on the touch finder, surely Flash can do that?
He has a decent boot on him & I presume he could be a safe/decent metre finder for kicking for touch?

I don't think there's anything wrong with his kicking for touch. I get the feeling he just misjudged the breeze he was kicking into for that penalty.

Yeh maybe you are right, I just look at him & expect that he wont get much distance or power on his kicks, much like the bomb he was trying to put up, it lacked height just as much as poor placement.

I think it's harsh to call Arona 'only depth'. I think you'll find that most people on this forum (including myself) had him in their top 17 before the season. Some even had him starting. The guy can play. Don't write him off yet.

I just don't see him as a front rower and we have better back rowers in our team

Only 2 tries came off his kicks. The out on the full and the bomb. We werent punished on the touch finder

Going from memory (could be wrong) didn't they score from the failed touch finder not the out on the full?

Either way his poor kicking game was the result of two Canberra tries.

I imagine Flanno would have had Barba work on his kicking all week so hopefully he'll surprise us tonight.

Yeah his failed kick for touch was a massive kick downfield. Just not enough angle on it. As soon as he kicked it I yelled at the tv "**** that is too far downfield!" Followed by some other choice words
