"Mulitalo played centre as a junior and his switch means the Sharks have been unable to find a spot for talented utility Connor Tracey in the opening two rounds of the season."

Elsewhere on the net...
"Some big names among the reserves including Cameron McInnes (knee) and Connor Tracey (quad) who are nearing returns."

JoUrNaLiSm...
I mean the first one is just written by a moron because he was injured. I don't know how these 'journos' have a job.
Can't be expected to know everything about every player but the public NRL list of injured players shouldn't be out of their reach.

I like the idea of Tracey playing centre because it gives us the utility value and we can keep 4 forwards on the bench.

On the flip side I want to give Ronnie a go at centre and feel we're probably better with a Ronnie/Ikavalu combo over a Tracey/Ronnie - assuming Ronnie takes to centre after a few games.

This Part

As apprenticeships go, the 22-year-old says he couldn't have had it any better with Morris, Dugan and Chambers all having played for Australia at the peak of their powers.
"Chambers was a massive one," Mulitalo said.
"Watching him get around the park and he had a bit of niggle in him which he made it known (to the opposition).
"He doesn't change for anybody and I love that about him. He was the ultimate competitor and J-Moz's (Morris) work ethic was unreal.
"I think they were all awesome for me and they've all played a part."

Ronny ain't changing. The niggle is the other side of the 'passion' coin. Humble, generous, lovely bloke off the field - bit of the opposite on it.

Yeah just stay winger Ronaldo, it's 2022. Wingers actually are important now.

If he plays his cards right on the wing he'll get fullback money from the Tigers or Bulldogs in 5 years time.

I'm obviously in the minority but I'm still struggling to see what attributes he has apart from passion.

He's not quick, he's not particularly strong, not much of a pass on him, defence very questionable.

Sometimes the energy can lift the other blokes around them.
Is that worth a spot in the team?
I guess we need to know the alternative and what they would bring against what he offers.

I think he's kind of a jack of all trades player

He's very passionate, arguable too much so
His speed is okay, he's not lightning though
He's reasonably tall, but not one of the tall guys
He's no lightweight or heavyweight
He's a decent finisher
He's fairly agile
He is fairly competent under a kick

He just seems to sit somewhere around the middle for most attributes, which is okay because a lot of players are well bellow the middle in some attribute or another, but at the same time he will struggle to ever be really elite if he has no elite attributes.

I think he's fine as long as your aren't paying too much for him.

Compare to our other boy Katoa, he's pretty passive, okay speed, quite short, quite light, elite finisher, very good agility, fairly competent under a kick. He has more obvious strengths, but I think more clear weaknesses too.

Ronnie's most elite characteristic is his off-field attitude and character, beats a lot of other NRL players there, which is great but doesn't really translate on field

Yeah, it's tought with Ronnie. When he does good things they're so good it makes you think he's a better player than he really is.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Ronnie is a bit faster than Katoa. Remember how surprised we were when Sexy first started, when he got into the clear we all thought it was glasses down. But he really wasn't all that quick.

But then again, I just remembered a game against the Broncos, either last year or the year before when Ronny almost got run down by a prop while scoring a try.

The detachable collars on the jersey saved him on that occasion as I recall.
