Only mentioned because of bula talk who is also contracted, who knows Jenkins could be interested seeing they have emerging talent aswell as Alamoti
 
I imagine the club would be tempted to save the $300-3500K anyway. Even though it's not in the salary cap, it still costs money!

Does the club keep unused cap money? I'd be surprised if the NRL allows that.

As far as I understand:
  • We get the same grant as normal (no extra money), and are still paying Ronaldo the same
  • Our salary cap is temporarily increased, but if we get an extra player, we are then spending $350K more of our own money (which the club doesn't really have)

OK if that's how it works then I agree, no point spending it for the sake of it.

Problem is, you’ve got to imagine if there was any indication Jenkins is willing to look at other options, the media would be all over it now because there would be a bidding war. Thats one of the reasons why I don’t think Jenkins is interested in leaving Penrith, its a good attitude to have, stay and fight for a place, he played plenty of first grade last season, It’s not out of the realms of possibility that he breaks in again.

Also dont forget hypothetically if he did come here, once Ronnie is back mid season, Jenkins might find himself in the same spot as he was at Penrith.

Foxy wouldn't let a simple consideration like 'literally zero evidence, and in fact, many arguments to the contrary' stand in the way of a good suggestion though.

As far as Jenkins goes we've also seen him flop to the point he was struggling to make NSW Cup when at a club besides Penrith. Newy no program to envy by any stretch, but still a concern which would make me reluctant to chase him too hard.

And we are always claim we wanna be one of the big dogs sides winning Grand Finals - does signing a player that can't make a team that got knocked out at the same stage as us make us that better team?

He's also kept Alamoti out of their side before, he's never kept NZ international Ronaldo Mulitalo out of a side. He may prefer to fight for a spot he has won in the past than move to be a placeholder.

"might be interested" in Foxys post appears to be doing a lot of lifting.

Originally just throwing it out there as a suggestion or question for conversation sake to do with the 350k mentioned. We cant afford Bula, still has contract, we have kennedy who could also be extended again, and also have ison til 2027, yet Bula is brought up and talked about.


Personally would rather put Stonestreet or Hiroti on the wing







And put Nikora at centre if ramien left 😉

Hiroti on the wing is les tat great, I don't think I've seen him have a goo game on the wing. Would rather Hiroti a centre once we move ramien on

But I think he’s played enough wing we could use the money on him if not done yet, and use the money we had for him with a bit more versatility

By the time you’re at wing 4 good chance it’s not a polished diamond in most teams
