Yep. Turns a goal lead into a try lead. If they score out wide they still need to kick the goal. Unfortunately we did our usual act where we let them score against the run of play, under the posts.

The penalty was in front, it's basically free points. No way I'd back us to score a try if we take the tap. Reality of the situation is we have dire attacking structure and we probably would have stuffed it and got nothing.

Have to disagree with you. Extremely negative football and you're basically praying if the other team scores they miss the conversion. Take the bull by the horns and take the game away from the opposition. It's really poor captaincy imo.

Yeah I don't mind going for the two, what would the odds be of actually scoring?

It wasn't the choice of kicking the goal that lost us that game on the weekend. Hell, didn't the Dragons decide to kick the goal at any opportunity a couple of seasons back, and now they have a premiership to show for it?

The problem with a grinding, grafting type game is that the other clubs dont play fair and play that style as well. When are the other clubs going to see the light and stop using bodies in motion and nice decoy plays. Cant they see Flannos grinding football is the way to go. Shame on you Bellamy,Cleary and Hasler

in the press conference post game, Flanno said Gal wasn't happy about taking the 2. Maybe he doesn't just do as he likes as is believed? We had apparently planned to take any points on offer & that's what he stuck to. Poor coaching. There surely has to be some flexibility in a plan like that. I'd be quite happy for Gal, as captain, to override any such decision if warranted.

I'm being a nark but is there any chance we could make this thread about more than taking the bloody two points? That was boring enough, I don't really want to relive it. Mark the Bastard has raised an interesting topic, it would be good to see some ideas.

Does anyone have a list of our current roster including when their contracts end? I think it would be very useful for this exercise.

I'm a bit torn about Chris Heighington. He's been brilliant for us these past few years, but at the same time, we need the injection of youth in our team.

We do but look at the tigers plenty of youth no hard head to keep them focused when the tide turns. I think Chris would be good in that role maybe?

Keep in mind we're probably going to keep Gal as well. But I would not be disappointed at all if we kept Heighington around. Deserves a big payday in the UK though, Tupou too.

I think most people see 1-5 the same way. I would play Barba as a super sub off the bench. It was how he became so devastating at the dogs. He offers good cover for injuries as well. With the new rules around interchange coming next year, he could be dynamic for us. I want to see a young half and 5/8th combination. No one here rates the Nikorima brothers to fulfil this role? They are young and can be developed ala DCE and Foran. Oh and they are currently off contract for 2016.

I'm a big fan of playing juniors but those two really need to play a lot better to be considered for first grade next year

Moraitis isnt that far off and is just a line-runner with an offload at best anyway.
Jaden Clarke is out of his depth at five eighth- played 13 afew times last year for NSW cup and looked much more solid- has ball playing ability and could add an extra dimension.

Yeh I suppose Moraitis could make the step up. He is great in attack, can play before the line and can offload, good footwork. Needs to majorly improve his defence though.

Honestly I don't think clarke will ever make it. He has a good kicking game but tracey and the sg.ball halves are better players. His defence is very suspect so I doubt he will make it in the backrow
