YOUNGSTERS TO BOLSTER THE PREMIER LEAGUE RANKS
A total of 11 players still eligible for the under-20 Sharks Jersey Flegg side have been named in a 19-man team to take on Manly in the Premier League match to be played on Friday afternoon.
With injuries and suspensions eating into both the senior squads, coach Jim Dymock has been forced to go to the youngsters this weekend as he tries to keep his side’s semi final hopes on track.
The match presents an opportunity for 17-year-old centre Jayson Bukuya to show his talents, with Bukuya having started his season in the Under-18 SG Ball team. Joel Romelo, an exciting prospect in the hooking position, appears set to get his chance in Premier League coming off the interchange bench.
The Sharks currently sit in equal eighth position on the Premier League ladder, with this week’s rivals just one point above them on the table.
The Premier League match kicks off at Toyota Park at 5.30pm, while the first match on Friday afternoon will be an Arrive Alive Cup schoolboys clash between St Gregory’s College and Matraville Sports High School.
The Sharks Jersey Flegg team has the bye in this round.
