Eyes up footy puts him in a gap

Set structure gets him crunched because the opposition knows the lines he'll run from set plays.
Which is why I don't think he's been effective. We've only seen one trick from this pony

Yep when he first shone he was put into space unexpectedly and looked great as a running forward. Be nice if we could work out a way to make that happen again.

Unexpected for the opposition but SJ sure knew what was up. Their timing was great

Sounds like a Tracey/Ronaldo combo on one edge at least:
Fitzgibbon also revealed there was an exciting combination forming on the left edge.

“Connor (Tracey) and Ronaldo Mulitalo are starting to get a little bit of combination work out there interchanging between centre and wing,” he said.

“Connor’s just one of those players that he just needs to be on the field... he’ll be out there somewhere that’s for sure.”

Well I just suggested this interchanging positions option for Ronnie and Ikuvalu but totally makes sense Tracey could also pull it off

With that piece of news I expect our backline round 1 to be something like this:

Kennedy
Katoa
Ramien
Tracey
Mulitalo
Moylan/Hynes
Hynes/Trindall

Does that backline have points in it?

"But make no mistake, those big-name additions, as well as fellow new recruits Matt Ikuvalu, Jayden Berrell and Jayden Berrell have certainly left an impression on Fitzgibbon."
Sounds like we accidentally signed two Jayden Berrells.

Either that or he's Tasmanian.

That will scare the hell out of the top teams.
Most teams aren't rocking a world class 4th and 5th selection in their back 5.

They have a 0.6 strike rate between the two of them last season which isn't too bad considering CT got chopped and changed a lot, we had a lot of disruption and finished 9th, and we attacked to our right more than the vast majority of other sides too. Ramien/Katoa have a 0.47 rate and we attack approx half the time to the right. (I know various players including not named have been at diff positions at times)

They both work hard to create their own chances but more importantly we are banking on the likes of Hynes/Molylan/Trindall and Kennedy to make chances for these guys more than expecting them to be game breakers.

There are ??? to be sure but I'd say the things we need to get right in preseason ranked is probably

1. Halves
2. Brailey vs McInnes vs Finucane best use
3. Centre 2
4. Starting prop / bench balance

Feki-Leutele with a bit of Beale sprinkled in didn’t scare anyone either. Got the job done though.

You can’t have 17 rep players (unless you are the Broncos/Raiders in the 90’s) so somewhere in your lineup you are going to have some blokes who are each just doing a job.

Plenty will find this just totally unacceptable

Whoever gets picked in Rd 1 in any position will not be able to blame wet conditions for a poor performance . Has been plenty of chances already & more to come to get wet weather strategy in place this pre-season & to pack the right boots for the conditions .
