Mmmmm yeah... kinda.

I did mean just running straight and hard knocking blokes out of the way, but I get that it is not his style. He is more about getting more yardage staying on his feet creeping forward, while looking to offload. But, as I said, for me personally, I'd rather a bit more aggression from my props. Bring back Beatie, Bang Bang and Stevenson!

Yeah he has always been a footwork at the line kinda guy, not just a missile. Puts in just enough to try and keep the arm free or minimise first contact so he can make some extra meters. Pretty common for most good props to succeed with footwork at the line more than brute strength, although nice to actually have that as an option to keep defenders wary. With his build he isn't going to barge over too many forwards or even decent halves, he's tall and solid but nothing like a 115/120kg prop. He also has super unathletic looking legs, I'd like to see him build a little more power into those things. I think a touch more explosive power from the legs would help him a lot.

Woods had the turn your back into opposition and grind yardage while looking for offload phase for a while which worked to start with then better wrestle and he was being controlled in that position too easy so fortunately he managed to shift back away from relying on it.

1. Kennedy
2. Katoa
3. Dugan
4. Ramien
5. Mulitalo

1-5 are a lock IMO unless there is a new signing/injury. Eyes on Ferris in ressies and Kennedy for the first 4-6 rounds to see if a swap is an option with dugan at 1.

6. Moylan
7. Townsend

Also just about guaranteed I feel, till Moylan inevitably breaks down and Tracey will come in. Trindal, like Ferris will be looking to start hard in ressies.

8. Fifita
9. Brailey
10. Woods
13. Tolman.

Rightly or wrongly I think fifi will start, personally I'd go with Toby. I don't think minutes will shift much big Andy playing 30-40, could even be a swap to the bench before kickoff. I think in an attempt to fix our ruck defence issues Tolman will start, leaving space for impact to come on.

11. Nikora
12. Wade

I'd have Talakai over Nikora as I think he needs to be out there as much as possible, but I have a feeling he might share a role with Tolman in the 13 this year.

14. Tracey
15. BHU
16. Rudolf
17. Talakai

Most have been explained, very likely Fifi/rudolf swap before kickoff.

I'd imagine Wilton, Trindall, Ferris and potentially Pele make the ext bench depending on preseasons. All should likely see first grade time this year.

Only changes id make to Chad's side:

Talakai starting on the edge for Nikora who is out of the side.
Tolman bench with Uele starting.
Tracey on the bench.

Tolman and woods isn't enough fire power to start with and talakai is too good not to play 80. With the increased speed of the game Tracey is a good option to have also.

Unless our defence had improved a lot, we might need a boring but solid defense-focused starting side... Which lends towards Woods and Tolman

It’s hard to argue with this - the only weakness being if a hooker or half goes down.

Best EVER form and you don’t give Fifi a start? He’s be a top 3 pick I reckon

Hmmm, bit worried about the halves tbh.
hoping CT and MM can hit it off together.
I reckon we are ok in the forwards and outside backs

Possibly but I didn’t want to start a new one!

Tolman has too big a motor and defense too big a legacy issue not to have Tolman out there as long as possible - agree Nikora even at his best prob can't make this side and Uele granted was a strong starter for a period of time in 2020. I like Tracey but could also pass on him

apparantly under JMO this pre season and with new coaching staff on board defense has been a big focus and potentially a re-prioritisation - signs were pretty good first half in the trial but we shall see how much they have flicked the switch so to speak in the season proper . dogs are also a terrible attacking squad so I still have my doubts but here's hoping. surely we can improve on 2020 at least which alone might jag us another couple wins

Yeah I can see how that could be mis interpreted. Happy to swap Fifs in for Woods.

there's nothing to mis interpret, you posted the rules quite clearly but i spose the thought of some of our players ever being at their best again is hard to fathom and approaching fantasy

Woods: 14 Nsw 18 aus
Fifita: 10 nsw 7 aus

Fifita legit won games for NSW and a GF for the sharkies to boot. Woods at his best at rep level was just solid but mostly carried by better players around him. how many series did he lose in that NSW squad and he was supposed to be the "hard man enforcer"?
Fifita also kept out of more rep games due political reasons and injury

Fifita at his best is in another galaxy compared to woods at his best

Stats don't lie. Woods is better.
