Do yourself a favour and listen to this one... You just never know what's going on with people.

Really good episode of Six Tackles with Gus dropped today. One on one chat with Eddie Jones, plenty of League talk.

Interesting that Eddie said Joey was pretty much a done deal to Rugby in 2005.

In your head, rent free
we have posed a question on twitter for tonights podcast but i wanted to open it up here:

did we overrate and are we over expecting the sharks to deliver in 2023?

the reason i ask, i claimed we had the deepest roster in the league and expected us to give a real good crack at the title

let us know your thoughts or hit us with a question

I thought we overachieved last year. The pieces are there but our record against the top teams speaks for itself.

That said bar Souths, most of last year's top 8 have started slowly, and we've been playing without our best player.

We'll be up there but we need more from our pack and for Sifa/Jesse to return to form.

We're good enough when we're firing on all cylinders but that seems to be a rare occurrence.

We're short a laterally quick nutcase like Radley (although concussion protocols seem to be limiting that advantage), and an enforcer prop.

Also need to sort out the defence but that should be achievable well before the pointy end of the season.

What is an enforcer prop?

I think people really need to take into consideration the easy draw we had last year, but then again, it supposed to be an easy draw again this year.

Questions:

1. has the defence gotten better or worse under Fitz?
2. should Moylan be offered an opportunity to partner Hynes after Trindalls success? If so, how long for?
3. should Fitzgibbon persist with Talakai at centre?
4. with Kennedy performing well, do Sharks see him as their long term fullback provided he can offer persistent form?
5. what is holding Brailey back? do they look to change up his minutes?
6. is the Sharks forward pack lacking size?

I definitely agree our roster is the deepest, however our bench rotation nullifies any benefit we should be getting from having a superior bench to our opponents.

Also the depth only matters if we utilize it, example, Royce's stupidity on the weekend should see him dropped as punishment.

Actually a tough one to answer.

I think it's a bit early to know whether the team has been overrated. Though our defence is shocking, our attack will improve when Hynes is back.

But with that in mind, last year we did over achieve, realistically we should've finished in the mid top 8 (4,5,6) and that would've been a good achievement.

Our deep roster could actually be a weakness.

Cut depth a bit and have another star player or two.

Yes, depth struggles but you need luck with injuries to win the comp.

A prop who is an enforcer.

I can't believe that you made my post count go up by 1 with such an obvious question.
Lucky you edited to keep it to just the one extra post with no information

A Payne Haas would be nice or a James Fisher Harris
I'm convinced when people say we need 'an enforcer' or 'more mongrel' what they mean is they want one of the top 10 or so props in the game.

I definitely agree our roster is the deepest, however our bench rotation nullifies any benefit we should be getting from having a superior bench to our opponents.

Drop him for enforcing? For showing mongrel?
Our props should just let themselves get pushed over?
Seeing real mixed messages in here
