Mat Rogers in a Wallabies jersey was absolute spew. Again, should never of happened.

I am glad I wasn't around to see Steve Rogers don a dirty red V. Lance and Barrett x 1000 wouldn't make up for that.

To be honest, we barely realised we had him at the time. He was in lower grades and, though I recall some ball skills, he seemed lazy and a little overweight. Hardly stood out at a time where almost no clubs had conditioners who would whip any player into shape.

We were wrong...didn't recognise the true talent within.... it happens.

That same seeming lack of greatness early in careers also got Gavin Miller away from the Roosters to us...and he turned out a beauty. Ditto Ken Maddison (from Dragons), Paul Gallen (Parramatta juniors) and many others.
