Came to Cronulla a couple of seasons ago as a raw recruit from the country and is steadily making a name for himself.
The Sharks are grooming him as a front-rower although he came to them as a specialist second-rower.
Ryan has tons of get-up-and-go and certainly appears to have the makings of a top-flight prop. You can number on one hand the players who have become prominent first-grade props as youngsters. So like most players Ryan is still learning his trade.
He is rangy, is fast for a front-rower and revels in the tight defensive work. Ryan has already proved that he can be a good scrummager.
