I thought I'd like to share a simple message with all my fellow Sharks fans. My father passed away during last week, it wasn't expected and to be honest I am at a complete loss as I am sure other members on this forum have experienced the feelings that come with bereavement. He lost his legs 5 years ago, and I was his full time carer ever since. Every night I slept on his bedroom floor so he wouldn't get lonely. Everything you could possibly imagine that had to be for his care, I did many times. The strange thing is, I loved every minute of it.

The one message I am trying to portray in this post is that no matter no many wooden spoons we win as a club, no matter how many games we lose, this is just a game. Nothing is more important than those we love, I know this is a cliche but please, every chance you get remind those you care about just how much they mean to you, because as I have found out, you may not get another chance.

There's nothing I wouldn't give to go back and have one last conversation with him, and I'm hoping in the future I will get that chance.

So please, as disappointing as this football season has been, please, please put it into perspective.

God bless you all.

Perspective is a great thing to have. It's good to hear that even with your loss you are still able to keep a strong mind frame. I've been working with canteen for the past few weeks & I see cancer sufferers on the daily, young & old. There are people who would give anything to see loved ones again, even if it means living our most miserable days over and over, just to be able to say "I love you" one more time. Best wishes mate!

Exactly it's not life or death it's a game of footy, so grab a grasp done of you. Tough Father's Day hit man can't bullsiht you and tell you it gets easier because it doesn't, you just learn to cope and get through it better. Head up

Hitman, I lost my dad a couple of months ago, so in some way I know how you are feeling.

What you did for him is inspiring , and you should be very proud of yourself.

May he rest in peace and you deserve every happiness in the future.

My condolences Hitman. I am currently struggling with the fact I had to put my mother into a nursing home due to her suffering from Alzheimer's. She has suffered from pneumonia twice since we had to put her in and both times we were told to expect the worst. Everyday I visit her and feed her trying to do my best and make up for the time I lost. It's not until we lose someone that we take a step back and put things into perspective. Hang tough and if you need someone to talk to we are here for you.
