All up in your pixels
Caught something about Penrith on the radio when coming home today which I assume is the reason Sanyo's pulled the plug...

I really feel for the poor buggers.

I think the whole Gus Gould thing will turn out to be a complete disaster and I hope they can get the business side of things right.

I truly believe there is a few Clubs around that are going to be doing it tough really soon.

Yes there is the likelihood of extra funds being available through grants etc., in the future but what I see happening is that the new money coming in will go straight through their fingers because they don't have the business structures in place to handle it.

People have seen the Sharks as the financial basketcases of the NRL for a long time now. However, I think I'd rather be in our situation with all the budgetary controls, systems and sound business management than theirs.

i have pm'd someone the details, and have been informed not to post the information publicly as it could get this forum into trouble

there was "apparently" a big deciding factor behind the move that the take over team were none to impressed with

They want in on the Sharks now huh?
P.s. Cronulla did say yes Mr.Snowman. Me and the misses are looking forward to cheering him & the sharks on in our members jerseys next year. Bring on the top 8 ^.^

If we only had a similar structure 10 years ago probably would have had a premiership as well.

Onwards and upwards.

Not good to loose a major sponsor, I hope they can find a new one in time for next year.

I wonder what the real reason was ?

not sure if I'm on the right track w/ this or not but I wonder if the reason the Panthers have lost their sponsor is due to some news that supposedly will come out about a Panthers player who has got himself into some big trouble.

Yeah indeed.

It seems to me (a total outsider) that the Sharks are the only club who have come to terms with the fact that they don't have any money (we were forced to in reality). Meanwhile, Penrith, Parramatta etc continue to try and spend their way out of trouble and while they've been spending they've really only been slightly more successful, which would not necessarily convert back into dollars.
