Forgot I'd joined a draft, went into SC on lunch break and I was on clock for my first pick in 2 minutes, lucky timing!
Never drafted before so we will see how bad of a cluster **** it ends up

Teams all locked in? Not long til kickoff!

Who's your captains? Turbo for the owners? And who do you have if you don't own him?

I think he is must have and I cbf'd leaving him out for a likely price drop and then trying to get him in.
At that price it is two to three pretty expensive guys you have to shift to try get him in.

Certainly something to be said about just spending your million elsewhere and hoping a good opportunity to get him comes along, or he gets injured.

Was thinking similar with Cleary but now he is looking confirmed out for first three rounds I don't want to bench the million for that long.
Did get him in draft but thought he was still round 1 or 2 at that stage, otherwise I might have taken someone else (Teddy or Garrick probably next best available).

Did a second draft but got autopicks as I wasn't available - went okay except I ended up with Egan and Averillo starting and a bench including Walsh, Dufty and Edwards. Traded panthers fan Edwards for Blayke though which balanced my team a bit better. Hopefully Walsh and or Dufty bang and become valuable.

That was my thinking, too. It's always proved really hard to get a gun on a run in if you miss them early. Ends up taking multiple rounds, you miss other players to get in or cash out on... it's a nightmare. Anyway, SJ's going to smash it so you won't miss Cleary....
Though I genuinely believe SJ's going to go well. They have a great draw.

I'm afraid of SJ playing 2/3 or less of season so for that reason I've avoided him. Would be just our luck he plays full season after crashing our 2020 finals hopes and then barely hitting the field last season.

I'm pretty sure I want Cleary so I am just chasing money in the 7 jersey early season until I see a good chance to move on him

Doesn't help me in SC that I make some decisions which prioritise overall and some which prioritise head to head...

Yep, two different directions those two.

My only fear is that I'll give up points on a cheaper option as lose H2H's (my main thing). And I can downgrade if Hastings somehow manages to pull the Tigers' attack together

Yeah knowing which one you're focused on makes a big difference haha

If Hastings was kicking I'd pick him up but heard it will be Brooks which drops my interest in hastings a little.

At the end of the day I'm not a good one to take advice from my last season started off with a fizzle when I made a late decision to drop Koloamatangi (1209 points for year) for Host (626 points for year) because Host was suddenly named to start round 1. I much preferred Koloamatangi but if Bennett is starting Host he must be going to go off, right?

Well I said Turbo was must have but then jumped off him before his 170k drop.

Yep, the first three rounds have settled the should you or shouldn't you argument
He may well end up back in most teams but the price drop was too much to risk when you could nab players on the rise

The new question becomes how fast do you move to get Cleary in...

My draft I round 1'd him is the second highest scorer so far in that league so hopefully a good boost there but some dumbarse traded Frizell to a really strong team for ****ing Sloan. That team also grabbed May and has some other great gets.

I can't believe anybody paid $1.25M for Turbo - was never gonna be worth anywhere near that.

Whoever I played this week had him as captain for a lousy 132 points (66)

As far as I saw it I was throwing away around 200-300k to save the trades needed to try get him once he starts going
But he and team were so far off the pace I had to get off him

Won't be a loss of he gains it back... 😉
I'm in now so hanging onto him. Weirdly enough I'm flush with cash! Quite a few of the cheapies are coming through and I've downgraded a couple of others. Blayke will make huge money and just about lost for Grant. Not so bad in the end
