Also shows you how weak the team is as a whole..that soft underbelly has been there for a while with this squad.

You would think a better culture or with better leaders they wouldnt come out how they did

I reckon there was a bit more resolve this year under Bomber.

Lol, NRL.com team list still has Morris as coach.

maybe if he still was we wouldn't have just lost to one of the worst NRL teams you will see

having said that the players are highly paid professionals and really shouldn't need a coach every week to motivate them to make an effort and focus on the game. that should be a given. it's a simple game, push up in defense, tackle and don't make errors. that's all we needed to get over the dogs, not a complicated game plan but the dogs did play alot better than usual tbf

if these blokes are supposively playing for contracts alot of them look happy to be working at hungry jacks or laying bricks next year

Sack the coach, get the results you deserve.

Morris wanted to stay on for rest of the season according to him but the board in it's wisdom thought that was unworkable. well what exactly are we seeing now? is this workable? Hannay is only going to deliver mediocrity in the interim and the players won't care about playing for him

at least we will see which players still care and are having a crack and the rest can **** off

Which prick in this thread said something about us getting back in the 8 with a win tonight?

****ing jinx.

would you have preferred I said a loss would have kept us in the bottom 8?

there was no legitimate reason to lose this game but we found a way - shows how bad things are deteriorating quickly. The emotion of bomber leaving has worn off very quickly and its prob gunna get even uglier against the top sides

I reckon there was a bit more resolve this year under Bomber.

agree

Any chance the board brings him back for the rest of the year haha

Not likely.
That would mean them admitting to making the wrong decision.

I get they wanted to move on but they should have told him prior to the season and that’s when the board screwed up.
Bomber would have known up front and he could have stayed on to show off his capabilities as a coach to other suitors and our season wouldn’t have been wasted.

sadly we won't be giving it crack this season.
I wonder if we are sitting well down the bottom of the ladder throughout this year
will it make it hard to recruit good stock? if we're cellar dwellers - who would want to come?
does fitz have such pull??? he's untested as HC

dark times ahead, got this feeling we will be like the bulldogs for some time

They’re all playing for their own future- most likely elsewhere.

The club has shown that they don’t value any kind of team ethos at the moment. I’m not sure why players with one foot out the door should care at this point.

There is no motivation to do it for the group.

Terrible leadership from the top.

But unsurprising Yeah.Players are not Robots. What happened (and how/and on what flimsy basis)to their Coach showed them a few things. Now the Media not gonna not let up. It's pretty understandable imho.

Sure, but they can make mass changes, we cannot. Us and them on a par i reckon, not worse.

We could make changes if we had a healthy 30 man squad to tap into
We were missing 8 players (including 3 of our top 6). Get 2 or 3 back next week but lose Talakai. Hard to make changes when we can’t keep a fit squad playing.

Hannay should drop one of the props and start Williams, I don’t mind which, both need a kick up the arse. Maybe even do drop both and start Tolman too.
If Katoa is back I’d also be looking at bringing him in for Dugan and start Tracey/Wilton at centre. Could even do Tracey and Wilton starting in backs if Katoa isn’t back.

We really need to shake off Fifita to free up 400k+ for next season. We can’t have his full wage spent on a reserve grader.

This loss is disastrous, every team we face from here will know we are weak

The Raiders going down to the Cowboys made me feel a bit better about this game. And I suppose I would have felt worse blowing a good lead to a team like the dogs/cows and the fapping over Trent Barrett would have been even more extreme in that case

Was just alot of individuals out there doing their own thing in this game, not much in the way of team work or cohesion that's how it looked and that's how it felt. there was no morale or energy or desire
and many of those individuals had poor games.

they got booed off at half time

hope the big money senior players are embarrassed in themselves , especially dugan and woods . most of the younger blokes had a go

I checked the stats, we, as a team, made 13 kicks from 29 completed sets. That means we ran the ball on the last 16 times. Considering one of our strengths has been our short kicking game this year, no wonder we lost.
