Interesting rule that. Drop kick grubber, allowed. Coukda sworn ive seen em pulled up before. But if thsts the rule, so be it

They have been pulled up before and the player deemed not to intentionally be making a drop kick attempt. Slaters effort was determined to be intentional hence allowed and not a drop ball.
Why would a player intentionally go for a drop kick if it wasn't a shot at field go though

Attacking teams should line up for a field goal attempt, get the defense rushing them and then hook the drop kick towards your winger out wide

During the telecast andrew voss referred to the rulebook where it said a drop kick has to be intentional and an attempt at field goal. The ref and refs boss said thats not the case so i dunno
