I re-watched the roosters game last night (glutton for punishment), and I reckon we were the better team.

We ran for 100m more, completed higher at 81%, lead the linebreaks (4-1) and tackle breaks (28-26), we made more average metres per set (45.9m-41.6m), more offloads (19-8), and passed the ball more (280-199).

Defensively our tackles were more effective (89.8% - 84.9%) and our ineffective tackles were much less (8-30), plus our errors and penalties were also slightly less.

In summary, I don't think we are going that bad. Our attack hasn't clicked, but that's expected with a different spine every week for the opening 5 rounds. Once that gets settled we will improve. The fundamentals are already there.

So giving those stats, you can't just say they don't fit the situation, explain why they're a bad indicator?

We always seem to win games we shouldn’t

We shouldn’t win this game. And we won’t.

I’m not sure what you mean. I’m saying those stats are showing we aren’t playing that poorly and the fact we’ve had a different spine in every game has contributed to us not being able to score points.

What i can tell, and its the same as last year. We have no problem at all marching up the field, its once we get into an attacking chance that we stall. Our other issue has been giving up possession through errors. In defence, we still seem to be pretty solid (except for diffusing attacking kicks), but our poor discipline just puts us under pressure time and time again

I’m happy to go with this line up:

1. Moylan, 2. Katoa (if fit) then feki, 3. Noodle 4. Dugan 5. Val 6. Flanno jr 7. Chadley 8. Fifita 9. Brailey 10. Prior 11. Lewis 12. Graham 13. Gallen
14. Paulo 15. Dillion 16. Uele 17. Williams (back row type)

No Hodko, Ricky, or capes and most of all no seggy.

A few things here (without trying to start a fight)

- No Katoa this week so it's Feki.
- Which side of the field do you want Flano/Chad playing?
- I reckon Ava has been going OK as the 20 minute prop. Do you see something in him you don't like or do you just want to get a look at the other blokes?

Does this mean that you are now accepting of that backline of Matty C’s?
Given that you haven’t disagreed or commented (other than Kato’s still injuried).

I agree about Ava. I think he has been playing well for us and deserves his spot before Dillion, Uele and Williams.
I don’t mind those 3 but I think Ava would be better option.
If Segy is injured, a bench of Paulo, Ava, Uele and Bukuya (if fit) otherwise Dillon/ Sorensen.

I think abs has been very good for use I would like to see him play more minutes as well. He is a very effective tackler and is hard to bring down.

Nah - just asking him to clarify.

I'd also add that Jack Williams is a middle player rather than a "back rower type". Sorensen is probably first in line at Newtown for edge players. He's been playing hooker 15-20 minutes per game too. It's a moot point arguing about that spot anyway if it is only for 17 minutes. May as well keep Capewell and cover a few extra injuries.

Katoa named for Newtown.

I guess Flano agrees that Ramien's 240 minutes of OK footy doesn't trump Ricky Leutele's 10 years of OK footy.

Huge changes though.

Jayden could play 80 potentially but Paulo is there for cover (and will play more minutes which is good)

Feki dropped is good but didn’t think flanno had the balls to do it. Means that spot is now open for sione or for val if they prefer sione on the right.

Happy for Dillon to get a crack too and see how he goes.

I’m also giving flanno a 50/50 chance to play this week.

**** I’m excited for this game now

I reckon Flanno gives Hodko another chance unfortunately.

Wonder if naming Flanno Jnr is a warning shot to Hodko?
