the black away strip strikes again

check out the sharks player stats for tackle % - most of the team are under 70%. I can't recall such ugly numbers across the board . every player missed like 4 tackles on average and ineffective tackles isn't any better a read

SJ with 9 misses wtf dude , talakai 6, ramien 6, even the usually reliable Tolman racked up 4 misses

remarkable our goal line defense held up well relatively speaking or we would have had 50 put on us

so on average roughly every 3rd or 4th carry from a raiders player one of our defenders missed the tackle or made an ineffective effort - that's diabolical . where did the energy and spirit go this week? team looks buggered and bit over it

I’m intrigued that there’s so much anger around this game. This was always going to be a tough game to win.

We’ve been terrible defensively through the middle all year. Against teams who have big, agile and offload capable packs we’re in for a tough game. Add in a high completion % and we’re sitting ducks; ala the Broncos game.

Wilo, I think the ‘anger’ is just disappointment in our team.
they are professional footballers and seem to lack any pride in their trade or performance.
we can’t be making excuses for them when they lose to decent opposition
anyhow, if they had any spirit they will be up for next week

Think I'm more outraged by your calling Wilson 'Wilo'

Honestly anyone who blames the refs (who were bad) or any particular player is deluded.

62 missed tackles.
22 offloads.

That lost the game right there. There is no ****ing argument. Every single one of them should be ashamed and a coach with half a set would tear shreds off every one of them.

This 100%.

I will also add that I did not see any second phase play in the second half. It was all one out hit ups.

I think we have been very lucky with how results when this round, but gee a win yesterday would have put us in a very good position.
Dropping the Broncos and Raiders games keeps us very vulnerable where wins would have nearly guaranteed us a play off spot.

Let’s hope we start to win the games we are meant to win.
If we do, we should still make the 8!

Can't believe Tigers smashed Broncos. Is it me or teams end up having their best game against us. Broncos and now Raiders

We were **** , we let them run we let them offload and we missed tackles

But we got some crap calls , some very ordinary dubious decision , it wasnt a surprise given perenara was the VR

But what we miss more than anything is a captain , who was captain

Gal would have been in the refs ear all night questioning those decisions instead last night there was silence

We need to find a captain

Throw the whole account a Finuncane

Tolman tried and said they were slowing down the ruck too much and ref just said 'thats not how I see it' and walked off

But the ref wasn’t seeing a lot of things last night.
Had his night vision goggles on when the lights were on!

I do hate it when they say a specific event doesn’t change the outcome of a game.
Its crap cos the way the rest of the game is played out does changes as a result.
The restart is different (earlier), players mindset is different (only down by 6 not 8), Trindall’s confidence is different (not worrying about being on report or giving away the 8 point try).
Any small seeming insignificant change could have sent the game into a whole new direction.

Granted It could also mean that the Raiders smash us by a lot more or it could also mean that we win the game as there is a direct affect to what happens next after the refs call.
Elsewhere in his weekly Monday media briefing, Annesley admitted the NRL Bunker erred in awarding the Raiders an eight-point try after Sharks playmaker Braydon Trindall barely hit Jordan Rapana high.

Ultimately, it didn't have a serious impact on the result as Canberra kicked away to win 34-18.

"It's more accidental and incidental contact in the act of a try being scored, so I think that's a pretty low bar if that's where the Bunker is going to set the standard for what constitutes an eight-point try," Annesley said.

He also conceded Cronulla centre Jesse Ramien was wrongly penalised for a second-half shoulder charge on Rapana.

Western Sharks, I agree with you 100%.
annesley also admitted the Ramien shoulder charge was no penalty, and they scored off that………we was robbed

“The referee team made two glaring mistakes bad enough we need to come out and admit to them, but ultimately the sharks lost despite these bad decisions against them so they clearly didn’t impact the result”
