the NRL fix was in

Honestly am I going crazy or did they just pretend those two things didn’t happen? Sometimes I think at the end of games the refs get so caught up in the like action and suspense they stop seeing obvious ****…

They may have been dud calls but Katoa was lucky not to be sent to the bin for his hit on Sironen. He didn’t miss.

Would be great if Cronulla could give us a win without causing a heart attack sometimes haha. Anyway, a win is a win & I'll take that although there were a few interesting calls for both sides tonight.

SJ showed his experience tonight, put in a lot more effort, most plays paid off & Trindall showed a bit of promise I thought, a few long kicks but he still showed some promise for the future. I love Traceys effort but I wish he could throw a few good passes towards Mulitalo otherwise we'd have a few more tries. Kennedy looked a bit iffy under the high ball today as much as he has been great this year, we left a few balls but I'll accept that today. Uele looked great when he came on, he's a very good player & probably good enough to start but off the bench for impact is probably his best. His try celebration was class aswell! No wonder I love him haha.

Glad they never got the extra try to get really close.. upon reflection what seemed like the second half on the defence and only letting in one try, I’m hoping also gives us a shot of confidence. The warriors sure no how to butcher a try.. a Sunday game I like to watch channel 9 then if we win i can watch the game on kayo later in the week. commentators very critical of how many penalties in yesterday’s game and just how flakey the warriors are.

Fox commentators won't be happy.

I think his hand was open which probably saved him, combined with falling action the fox commentators seemingly didn't see.
I do think he was lucky not to get 10 and the ref must have subconsciously thought that was only fair he stay on given he'd just let a high shot against Ronnie go unpenalised.

Good summation ….

I thought the ref was reasonable - which is unusual for a ref with that surname ….

The Katoa incident was before the Ronnie one though.

Good to see a bit of common sense in all this. I would have understood if he got 10 in the bin but not charged.

The problem is that they are not consistent game by game, week by week.

Not unless the game started at 20-6 and ended in a nil all draw. I am talking about just a tackle or two before when Ronnie was high contacted and then one-on-one stripped on kick return.

I haven't had time to go back and look at it but I distinctly remember Katoa getting Sironen in the face and causing blood, the commentators wondering why he wasn't in the bin ( I was wondering the same thing!) and then just a few minutes later Lodge collected Ronnie and the commentators said they hoped Lodge didn't get sent because Katoa didn't.

Lodge hits Ronnie high on kick return and O'Sullivan strips him one-on-one. O'Sullivan tackled and ball spreads wide to Sironen who Katoa slaps. Ronnie one was minimal but if it had been challengeable I think would have to be a penalty. This is all just under 30 to go in second.

Are you thinking of around 15 mins later AFB chops Katoa pretty hard (action is bad but contact to head actually pretty minimal but penalty given) and commentators did say they hope it isn't 10 after Katoa didn't go (this is with approx 14.30 to go)?

On the topic though I though both Woods lifting tackle and AFB crusher tackle on Nikora (made a second motion) could have been charges.
