I thought there were only 10 games left, but you are correct Egg, there are 11. I obviously can’t count very well. That is a pretty kind draw for us though, isn’t it?

I think so mate
Hopefully win up to 8 if we play to our abilities

What a game that was, I am so happy with the boys for winning that but if we want to have a chance of making the 8 we've got to learn to play for the 80 minutes rather then only 40.

too good to be true. our mistake will be - we think we will have them won before kick off. then we get trounced. happens often to us.
some teams there in that list have struggled lately but will probably lift when they need to.

hope the sharks romp it in though :glasses-cool:

Two things from last night. Wade is susceptible to concussion. He should think seriously about giving it away and the game has passed Fifs by.

All winnable. Only real tough one is Manly there as storm likely rest their whole side in Rd 25.

Agree mate that Wade must be at least on the edge of thinking about retirement. He has not been at his best for a couple of years now. I reckon he is also playing “worried” about the whole concussion thing. His natural defensive style is also very aggressive and sometimes careless which further opens up the possibility of a head knock and or a penalty against us in the modern style of the game.

As for Fifs, yeah, I can just see him giving away too many penalties at crucial times.

1 anyone got possession % for second half , I reckon it was about 70/30 Penrith
2 we defended very well at times withstood a lot but we let in a softy or two or three
3 why the hell didn’t we take the captains challenge at 18-12 when we were penalised for strip , didn’t look a strip to me and would have slowed their momentum , that was poor captaincy

I think the point was - about 5 to go, slow momentum (even though we knew two in a tackle). I thought the same at the time.
Meh..not the worst idea hate to burn it and then really need it soon after.. we should be rejoicing that their winger was still on half way line, when they threw the no looker….phew

Kickow made the mistake of forgetting to grab his head to get his free HIA sub

anyways When that panthers team ran out and their team sheet was displayed I still thought that is a decent side with some good players in it but their halves were horrendous come game time bar a few burton moments and we dominated the field position first half - still I thought we would do well to get a win and we did.

game played out similar to our finals game against panthers back in 2018

panthers weren't at full strength on Friday but that isn't our problem and we havn't been at full strength for like 3 years lol plus we have a baby sitter coach at present

sharks second 39 mins are a real problem, our attitude, game plans and execution just warps to another planet. there's a trend with this team for years of getting up for a big game with a perfect opening 40 mins followed by a good opening minute in second half lol followed by bad defense, bad handling and discipline. Think of our game against Raiders earlier in year but there's heaps more examples

yes panthers came out with more energy and intent but not enough to fully explain them leveling the scores up as their attack was pedestrian alot of the game

is it like a club tradition for us to swap half time notes with the opposition coach or something?

as for games remaining in the season for whatever reason I still felt like the season hadn't got going all that long ago and was fairly young but we are now more than half way through geese, business end approaching already to keep pushing and hopefully lock down a top 8 spot. can't drop too many from here though

oh and before I forget - **** the senior chin merkin , his side is a couple injuries away from a season derailment. his depth don't look too flash nor do even some of his regular starters right now. I would be very nervous about how the remaining Origins game go if I'm a panthers fan

Could say that about any team though, apart from Melbourne.

"Next man up" is great in theory but tends to get a bit trickier for each next man you've already used.
