It is man. Its actually weird we are winning still, we are a shadow of last years team but still on track somehow.
What does this say for a team like newy that we can show and play so ****ing badly and still win games

Agree, and if you fix those 2 things the attack and defence improves with it anyway.

I think luck has won us some games.
we've aimed up in the tougher games and have been very deserving winners, but the games we are expected to win we have been ordinary and Lucky with some decisions.
If the "luck" runs out we aren't playing well enough to win on our own merits at the moment.

I think it's errors first.
Fix those ups and we don't defend as much, and thus fresher in attack. We made 7 line breaks last night too, and a few of those errors were tries. Well Feki's was atleast.
We also won't concede as many penalties as a result. It was 7-4 against us last night, a few of those would have been to slow down the ball intentionally, we won't feel that need to if we are holding the ball and from that have better field advantage.
I'm just stoked we're winning games with these amount of errors. We've got Segy and Bakuya back who will both make a huge difference. Start holding the ball and try to hold that Top 4 spot and we could give the comp a real shake at the end.

I'm still shaking my head in disbelief that we are running 2nd after how bad we've been playing. It's also frustrating because you can't help but think about how dominant we could be if we actually got our **** together.

I don't think we're playing THAT bad. We're doing really well defensively which is a huge part of the game. We just look clunky in attack and our errors are killing us.

Forgot to mention last night, seriously what was the deal with the drags last kick of the game, big boot down the ground with val already 15m ahead of any dragon players, maybe a chip n chase mid field up and under... bizzare last glory play.

Same mate. I dunno what our completions ended up, but at one stage it was just a tick over 50%. On top of that we're getting flogged in the penalty count and doing a lot of defense so I'd imagine we're down on possession too. There is a bit of a mantra in NRL that you gotta have roughly 50/50 possession and completion rate of 75% minimum to be in with a chance. I doubt we've reached those numbers too often.
I can't buy into luck too much. Yeah ya need a bit but you also make your own most of the time. There is a ****ing great footy side and real B2B contenders underneath all that crap to still be figuring in the top 8, let alone 4, let alone 2!

Yeah and we got away with four blatant forward passes in the second half as well so could have been even worse.

We've got a better for and against than Melb, and we're only 2 points behind the dragons
We have the second best +/- in the comp right now and only 2 points behind dragons. Had Feki caught that last ball and scored we would be #1. Plus our defence is the best in the league too.
I'd much rather be winning ugly then losing pretty.
