I noticed during the first 20 minutes that he kept lining up the defender and dropping the shoulder to put a shot on, think he was trying to get himself fired up for the local derby.

Only issue is Niwhai forgot that he’s the smallest guy on the field and he kept getting bumped off with ease in the four shots I saw him line up. When one of his misses lead to a line break he seemed to reel it in a bit and tackle with proper technique.

A little although I don’t see why he wouldn’t back himself to beat out Cole for a start.

Bears likely offered more than we could too, especially with Pollard and Ford as halves options.

Not really, he probably got more coin, a longer deal & he probably feels like if he plays lights out footy he’ll be chosen whereas, if he plays lights out for us Nicho & Tricky will keep getting picked ahead of him short of a 10 week form slump by either or injury.
