Official Nicho Hynes

I sort of agree, TBH, I don’t give a damn if they don’t actually lay a hand on him (the kicker) it’s more to show intent, like bluff them, sort of saying to them I’m coming for ya & I’m gunna hit you.

For me, it takes away the kickers comfortability & either makes him rush it that smidgeon more or prevents him from putting the kick on a dime or flushing it which is better for us & our our catcher.
At times or even more often than not, we just amble up to them likes it’s almost a token kick pressure stat they are ticking off.
I don't think they are worried about the threat of a hit anymore. Very hard to legally hit a kicker now with their leg, a jump and refs judgement of timing all counting against you.

But a body physically in the way still rushes them

We definitely do the bare minimum chase a lot, but I guess if you chase hard you get closer to risking the penalty when dude throws his kicking leg around or jumps.

I thought Tricky's kicking game was way off the other night (especially the first half). So much so, they started getting Nicho to kick (which didnt improve our situation).

I wonder if they addressed it at half time because I thought Tricky kicked a lot more and was more effective.

I thought both halves went OK when we had good ball. Both set up trys, we just didnt give ourselves enough opportunities.

Without re watching the game, would have been nich if Nicho and / or someone else backed up Wiltons line break
nicho did, wilton couldnt get in a position to get it to him

Of course it's not to say coaches aren't fallible. But if you think the solution is so obvious that it's crazy the coach can't see it you're probably the one that's wrong.

Still can't believe Burgoshark and SF launched a coup against Snowman to kick him off his forum...
except for the fact galvin isnt a half back and ricky should have resigned fogarty

Fitz doesn't want us to present a broken line or too much space to the kick returner. We got burnt a couple times by this a few seasons back

Nichos kicks are more about placement and timing and organization of our chase/defensive line - not outright distance or attack

Tricky's kicks are more distance and or about creating a contested kick / forcing an error from a spiral bomb

Both have pretty handy short kicking games, grubbers, chips ect.

We saw good kick pressure and line speed from the Sharks in the Warriors game

Players who offer genuine kick pressure, prob our best is H Puru but also Burns, Berrell, Wilton, Rudolf, JC. Sometimes Tricky and Hazleton. Our other players tend to phone it in or not even bother

I wonder how much accuracy Nicho looses by putting it up another 3-5m higher, that’s all that is needed most times & it them makes the kick contestable if we wanna go for it

Its coached that we don't contest, we would rather let them catch it, and tackle as soon as they hit the ground over contesting a bomb 10m out from their line.

Ramien will get bored standing around waiting for it to drop and is bound to come up with a way to get penalised with all that extra thinking time
