Official Nicho Hynes

I don't even get worked up about this bloke any more.

It's not his fault we were stupid enough to sign him for life on a million a year.

He's bog average.

Surely we have a better 7 somewhere in the club or even the 7 for the A grade champs.

Just curious.. apart from maybe one or 2 people in here who actually totaled Hynes as the best on the park last week? He was pretty good but Kennedy was best on ground according to most pundits including Dally M judges
I thought he was motm last week, this week when he gave them the ball twice and cost us 2 tries he spent the rest of the game hiding. It's a recurring theme of his time here where he's fallen hugely short in the big moments.

Must be nice for defensive coach knowing if it gets tight it aint going to Hynes... hes nearly become frightened of big moments...

The problem is hes a player that thrives when the team has all momentum.

But when the teams missing tackle after tackle amd getting penalties every set, he has nothing in hisbag to help the team claw back.

At 16-0 we had the game won. We just needed to continue doing what we were doing. Roosters were rattled. Then we slowly let them back in.

Hynes boot lets us down. He just isnt a general play kicker and thats a real problem

Sure Hynes wasnt great in second half last night but when we were attacking their line in the last 20 we had absolutely no shape for him and Tricky to work with.

No centres / second rowers running decoys / angles as options. No fullback running around the back.

The only option available to Nicho twice in a row was to just pass it out wide which left Iro, then SS with no time / space so had to rush in a silly kick.

We were gassed which has why all those 1%s dropped off.

Dont discount that Rooster hadn't played for nearly two weeks and we were coming off a 6 day turn around, travelling to Perth.

Don’t let facts get in the way of a good agenda

We were terrible as a team in the second half.

A complete reverse of the first half when the Roosters kept making mistakes - In that case their halves were non-existent.

It’s minimal but it all adds up
Our warmup was in full sun on a hot day and they had the shady end of the ground.
Doesn’t mean we should lose of course, but a small factor that could contribute

Halves combo is overrated, get someone in to help them
No overrated just need someone to come in and provide some guidance.

As I said, if Holdsworth is our attacking coach who is working close with our halves, that really worries me.

I would prefer a half that had some success from grand finals and rep duties to coach our halves.

100%

This has always been my concern.

At the time Hynes signed with us, he had experience as a half in jnr footy, but was a utility through his nrl career to that point.

I wonder how much work Fitz and co put into Hynes as a dedicated halfback in this time. I feel like in many ways he was just left to work it out.

I would’ve liked to have signed Foran when he went to the Titans for this reason

Not sure if you're taking the piss or being serious?

I get nervous when your posts are less than 6 paragraphs long!

Yeah - there is no doubt that the travel combined with the 6 day turn around - against a good team coming of a bye was a factor in our 2nd half performance …

You don't believe this is a thing? How do you feel standing in direct sun for an hr? Add to this all the work they do in warmup, it's not a surprise. The biggest factor in the second half was 30% possession. No half is doing anything with that, if anything we should have got beat by more

I have no idea how much of a factor it is. You'd like to think, being our home game, we had the choice of ends.
