I know what you're saying...but its probably the only Rep games he will play and it means so much to him - with the added bonus it's in the pre-season.
For someone constantly criticised for how he plays in big games, it's another chance to put him on a platform.
May not be as big a game from an overall quality across the park standpoint, but a big occasion for those playing still.
 
He played 27 rounds last year without injury. The biggest injury of his career occured on the training paddock in 2024.

The benefit of playing these bigger games outways the risk in my opinion.
Yep, no point worrying about it. It's footy. And I think coaches, staff and players get that trials and rep games have value.
