Official Nicho Hynes

"I feel like I could take my game to a better level if I carried an extra kilogram of muscle and take the line on a bit more than I have over the previous years," he said on 9news Sydney.

---

On the other side of his game, Hynes stated that last year was his "best defensive year", having tackled at 91.15 per cent efficiency.
Confirmed. Nicho reads the forum.
Just need to hear WIll say that he'll be backing up through the middle and we'll know Fitzy puts us on the big screen in team meetings.

So halfway through last season Brailey realised everytime he ran the ball something happened.

If Fitz and Co. haven't spent the whole offseason working on Will sniffing around Brailey each set then that will do me.

Certainly doesn't hurt to have Will hover around mid field early in sets but later in set he plays in the backline.

Hynes and Trindall are often around the middle.

One of those three should be awake to it and in a position vast majority of he time.

For the most part I think that middle support is for sets out of our own half anyway, looking for the opportunistic offload or dummy half scoot. If the spine is (...are? Help @Sir Chadley!) communicating well I don't think it creates issues. Or at least so many that it outweighs the positives.

When we're in the red zone he should be wherever he's asked to be (I thought about Will as a Drinkwater style fullback but we don't really need one), which, I would think, is somewhere between and behind the 2nd rower / centre for whichever side of the field the play is going. Switching sides into that position should be pretty quick to do if an opportunity presents. Keeps him moving, backing up and ready for the sweep around play they all love to run nowadays or a backdoor option for our Nikora/Wilton attacking runs (which we really need).

Spot on the first time mate!

Commentators will tell you Nicho isn’t a 7 because he can run and then next game will tell you Cleary is the best 7 in the game and plays his best when he takes on the line.
