Makes a tackle but takes heavy but not especially significant looking contact under the chin. Falls to ground, gets back up, stiffens and drops again.

Much if the below is what I’ve ‘heard’ but required around 10 mins if cpr on field before they loaded him into ambo and to hospital. Has weak pulse currently and not breathing independently.

My guess, which is purely a guess… has spinal cord injury from head whipping back. Swelling was quick but not instantaneous, allowed him to stand but quickly cut off nerve signals. Can stop breathing also.

Still all speculation at this point.

Watching sport centre waiting for update. After watching it quite a few times hit was a lot harder than I first noticed. Really hard to know if was cardiac or spinal

Other unlikely but possible things too

On a second look I can see that the main point of forceful contact may have been mid chest rather than what I initially thought (knocking head up and backwards) so specialist doc could be on the right track, seems quick to lose consciousness from lack of blood flow but not by a crazy amount

Dude basically dies on the field and the teams had to convince the NFL to stop the game

Purdy looking purdy shaky out there... we need more Bosa and Kittle.

C'mon 49'ers!
As requested! The defence stepped up when we needed them for the turnover and to shut down that monster Metcalf and Kittle made a big play on offence. McCaffrey was huge too, and Purdy pulled it together. Loving this team!
