NEWTOWN VS CRONULLA - HENSON PARK 10TH JUNE

The Sharks had a big win over the Jets in round five back in early April and will go in slight favourites in this return "West Side Story" match-up. Newtown will be out to defend its undefeated record thus far at Henson Park in 2006.

There's a terrific line-up of special guests coming to the Jet Set Lounge on Saturday

The incomparable John Raper: A Camperdown Dragons juniors product, JR played with Newtown from 1956-58 before going on to a phenomenal career with St.George. No less a judge of football than Frank Hyde regards John Raper as the greatest player in the history of Australian Rugby League.

John will be addressing the Newtown Premier League players prior to the game and presenting them with their jerseys.

Other special guests on the day include Johnny Lewis, a life-long Newtown supporter and one of the biggest names in the history of Australian boxing, plus Graeme Langlands, the St.George icon who played in so many Tests and Grand Final victories with his Dragon team-mate John Raper.

Flying Newtown Jets VB Premier League winger Troy Malcolm has been zooming up the try-scoring charts in his games with the Jets this season. This well-performed winger is a very competent finisher as well as making a habit of plucking high kicks out of the air to score in the corner. Come and see Troy in action for the Jets this Saturday.

A big test for the Newtown Jim Beam Cup boys when they come up against the undefeated Sydney Bulls from deep in the bowels of Bankstown. One player that Newtown fans should watch out for is rock-hard Jets front rower Ritchie Parker. This man is one heck of a mean hombre and anyone who thinks old time "hard nut" front rowers don't exist anymore had better take a look at Ritchie Parker go around on Saturday.
