Flegg had a good win too. All told a good trip to Brookie. Outscored them. 136-30.
A few notes on the other games...
Flegg:
- Liam Challenor was not very involved but that is not surprising. Simmonds runs that team no matter who plays 7. Challenor had some great defence and a few quality touches. Definitely didn't look out of place. I hope they stick with him.
- Curran some strong runs in his debut too. Had 1-2 of those "lions taking down an elephant" moments that Fa'atili has weekly
- Hromow bizarrely got sin-binned and put on report in the second half for what looked like just coming in as the third man in the tackle and lending a bit of weight to slow the play-the-ball down. Hromow looked like he had no clue why he was even penalised.
- Elijah Paea has been unlucky this year. He has performed really well in the few games he has managed to crack the team, but is stuck behind an established 1-5 and also apparently Lester and Grantham.
- The Flegg team have a bad habit of letting leads slip. Were up 18-0 in this one and it got back to 18-12 and Manly had a heap of attacking possession before the Sharks managed to pull away. Great work to defend their line, but a worrying trend.
NSW Cup
- Great performance across the board. Could grab a few highlights from any player to pump up their tyres but they were all great.
- Manly were dreadful
- Best game I've seen Pollard play. His passing and defence have improved a lot since the start of this season. Weak opposition needs to be taken in to account, but very strong performance from Riley.
- Ison had spiders on him. Manly had no answer for his speed in behind the ruck, especially in the second half. Carved them to pieces.
- Berrell had the ball on a string with the short kicks. He can be a riverboat gambler some times but when he gets it right it is a thing of beauty.
- Toby and Uele were really strong,
- Gabrael still has the knee heavily strapped
- Fearnley is the GOAT.
Pirates
- The Pirates lost again, but at least kept it close for a while. Was 24-18 with 20 minutes to go. Lost 34-18.
- Frost and Koroitamana appear to be regulars in that team now (they are SG Ball aged)
- Nadenic, Harper and Wilson all played for the Pirates. Rajab didn't play.
