Official Newtown Jets + Sharks Pathways 2026

Very interesting situation in the Qld cup this season. Teams 1 and 2 play today. If team #1 (Sunny Coast) beats team #2 (Redcliffe) it will give them a 5 point lead over the rest of the field.

This in itself is not unusual, but the interesting part of this is that the Falcons are one of only three teams in the comp who don't have players from their NRL feeder in their lineup. The other two (PNG and Toowoomba) are last and second last respectively.

Bombed a few golden opportunities at the end.

Fairly uninspiring play from what I saw second half, Ison the only attacking threat. Needed to give Ford more than 1 minute.

Knights have some good strong prospects

Riley Jones scored a nice try at the start of the game.

He won’t be a long term project though imo. He’s wanted by both codes and I doubt we’re paying him minimum wage.

I doubt we have guaranteed him anything but doubt he’s a long term project

At the start too. The two Stonestreet breaks in the first half should both have been tries under the sticks.

Cup winning starter to occasional fill-in is a fall from grace but I reckon he would have known he was going to be stuck behind Pollard for this season. He may have thought he would be a preferred option over Ford/Wilson at 9 though.

Neither. They didn't score. Was really windy. First break he tried to pass long inside to Ison and the wind got it. Ison caught it but had to stop and got tackled. Second one Stoney chose not to pass (presumably because the first pass went awry) and kicked instead... but teh support players had already gone past him and he ended up grubbering it in to Niwhai's ass.
