Official Newtown Jets + Sharks Pathways 2026

That bombed try from MG doesn’t inspire me with confidence that he is going to be a great right centre.

Yeah not the first time he’s done a pass like that. Also drops off tackles a little too often for my liking

I feel your lack of confidence, there will be some teething pains and doubt we will see the immediate impact Iro had

More Pomeroy.

Awful mechanics passing right.

Passes left really well.
I am probably sounding like a bit of a A Grader here but I can’t believe today’s players get to this level & still can’t do some basic fundamentals.
Whether that be passing L to R or R to L, don’t get me started on a basic draw & pass, you see it every weekend, players passing way to early to not ice the overlap or throwing forward passes.

100% agree, its like guys with repeatedly bad hands, i don't get it either BS.

Reminded me of this clip I saw the other day, giteau saying similar about Chambers;

So looking ahead to next season what would you say is a more likely scenario?

Iro switching sides or Gabrael?

In this hypothetical we haven't signed a right centre to replace Jesse which I'd say is still the most likely outcome.

If they saw Gabrael as our future right centre, you'd have to imagine he'd be playing right in cup.

Yeah you would think so. From memory KL spent some time on the right at Newtown but do we want to move him and build new combinations on both edges?

Players are picked in rep team then signed and recruited for their physical attributes rather than their skills, then they get dropped into specific positions and left there because they look good rather than being put in different situations to develop their skills.

Do that often enough for long enough and you end up with what we have now.

MG is great at positioning his winger and putting him over on his left. Attempting to draw and pass to his right he looked like someone who had never played Rugby League.

More right wing than right centre, A few games early in his NSW Cup career he was listed at centre but moved to the wing.

iro prefers the left so it makes for a tricky situation. and i like the iro/ronnie combo (put em both in your tryscorers multi today too)

i think its something that gabrael needs to work on if he wants that first grade centre spot
