Official Newtown Jets + Sharks Pathways 2026

Haven't read anything about the under 8's Gymea Gorillas! Heard there's some good prospects there!
They've been piss poor mate.

Coach has no idea how to use his interchanges, Need to swap the 6 and 7. The 14 needs more minutes. 8 not getting enough run metres. 9 not running enough. 10 could do with a few less Macca's runs. Need some new assistant coaches. Need a fullback with more X factor.

No.10 stays on for 2 minutes too long as well!

tbf there are roughly 50-ish already if you include the junior reps summaries.
I’m no mathematician but that number seems a lot lower than 100!

Joking of course, really appreciate this insight into players I’m not watching.

Probably for another thread for the answer, but here’s one for you (more the old you than the prospects you, but I reckon he’s still in there somewhere) - how would you rank our forwards for a 1-5 best ball players

From the current NRL group you mean?

Including top 30 plus anyone who has played a game for the Jets the top ten imo would be...

1. Hohepa
2. Hosking
3. Berrell
4. Cacciotti
5. Dellow
6. Colquhoun
7. McInnes
8. Fonua-Blake
9. Burns
10. McCulloch

Have them all wear #13, add two wingers and a fullback who can double as a dummy half. Plan the parade.

Thank, interesting to see so many I know only by reputation so high up.
Have seen a little of Hosking previously, but Cacciotti and Dellow not at all I don’t think.

I like what I’ve been seeing from Pep. Way game is playing currently might be a goer to have either JC start at lock but spend time at prop, to give them both decent minutes next season, or even JC spend even more time (or all his time) at prop and have Pep and Burns as the locks.

Jets up 18-16 at half time.

Penalties and poor end of sets killed them early. Ison will show up on the highlights for both teams,. Not all his fault but some wonky moments.

Hosking really busy in defence. McCulloch looking good off the bench. Cacciotti getting some more minutes this game.

Changing my mind a bit on Dixon a bit after his form over the last month or so. Always liked him for the yardage carries but he looks quicker and is rounding out some of the details of his game now. I thought some of the younger guys might pass him by the start of next year but I think he's gone up a level. Doesn't see a whole lot of ball on the end of shifts because the Jets can be a bit left-heavy with their attack some weeks. His touches are quality though.

Morgan Harper scores his second in the corner. Jets up 28-22, with kick to come.

Simple backline move, Gabrael gave it to Harper quite early, and he did well to score.

Jets scored a late try to seal the win. Pollard picked up a loose ball and runs 20m to score under the posts. Jets win 34-22.

----

1st try. Ison scoop from dummy half, linked up with Ford and then Pollard scored.

2nd try. Backline move, Ison cut-out to Harper (nothing super special).

3rd try: Just before half-time. Ison catches the ball from a short kick off, dodged a couple, then Lavender to Dixon who carried a couple over.

4th try: Great try to Lavender, after awesome attacking kick catch by Ison (off Ford kick). Nice work by Cacciotti and Pollard in there too.

5th try: Simple backline move, Gabrael gave it to Harper quite early, and he did well to score.

6th try: Pollard picked up a loose ball and runs 20m to score under the posts

Note: Ford on report for a dangerous lifting tackle, may get a suspension.

Bar TV Man of the Match (fan-voted): Riley Pollard.
