Official Newtown Jets + Sharks Pathways 2026

I watched most of the first half. Tuku was killing it yesterday, Gabrael very good… but so were the whole team. Strange game, the Jets were just making metres at will. Hosking and back rowers had them very much on the front foot.

Taj Ford also great in the 6…. He should be in our top 30. He’s a genuine challenger to Nicho on the attacking front at least. Probably different if he had to make 30 tackles like Nicho… most of the Raiders tries were down the Ford-Gabrael side... but could still be a bench weapon

Obviously it evened up late in the game

Hard to draw too much from it, given how lopsided it was early
I read somewhere where Taj ford is not signed with sharks (only jets). I have heard good things about this kid. Also plays fullback (hint hint)

He is signed to the Sharks on a full-time train and trial so is actively training with the club, as is Sam McCulloch and couple of others I believe.

Best of my knowledge dev list is currently full but Felix and Pollard are moving up to the top 30 next year so my hope is that Ford and McCulloch will be replacing them.

To add to that, T&T seems to be exactly the same as Dev now other than probably it is either rolling renewal or more flexible term than Dev contracts. Also I think would have slightly lower week by week pay than Dev, but has game bonuses if you do play NRL which not sure Dev does. Both come from same pool of money.

Anyone on a T&T would be as full time as a Dev contracted player while the contract stands.

Dellows named at lock in Flegg

Appears Challenor isn't named so might be out due to injury

I do see Dellows taking the lock position and Challenor moving to prop sooner rather than later anyway.

It sounded like that from the crowd noise. I haven’t seen much of it yet.

Jets had a golden chance near the end when Kobie Wilson made a break down the middle but Hill couldn’t catch the pass.

Jets lose by 2

Riley Jones went alright in centre, Michael Gabrael was going alright before his injury aswell. Berrell played alright I thought aswell until the final mistake he made.

I watched the highlights actually... he got injured scoring. Was down for a while, and started walking back with the trainer, but after about 10m the trainer signalled a replacement needed, and he walked off with assistance. Looked like maybe a knee. Fingers crossed not too serious.

  • Pollard - lucky/messy try from a failed grubber
  • Gabrael - scored after an innocuous offload, showed some strength to get through two players. Injured scoring
  • Jones - scored off a fairly simple backline move, did quite well to make something from nothing
  • Hill - scored off a backline move, nice try assist by Vea'ila, silky hands, Hill's speed was needed too.

Berrell threw an intercept for the winning Warriors try. Ford a bit slow to cover. Great Sattler-like chase by Jaxon Lavender, kept them out wide for the conversion, but Cleary too good a kicker.
