Official Newtown Jets + Sharks Pathways 2026

SG Ball Sharks bounced back with a shock win over the Panthers (who'd won five in a row).

We got out to 22-0 at half time, and then finished 26-10.

From the highlights, Daniel Rakena (Feki's nephew) seemed to play well at halfback. Two tries to Beattie, one each to Grantham, Curran and Nukutawhiti Gray.

Sharks still in contention for Top 8, will need results to go their way.

Any relation to Chris?

Only saw the highlights so far but Hiroti got a decent try, slicing through from about 15m out.

Faatili with a great try from a penalty tap 10m out, beat about five players.

Ford probably the best try after a Tuku offload

Some of the Raiders defence was pretty soft though

He got the first try, again just sliced through from 10m out after a good ball from Pollard

Jones also got a try at right centre, bouncing off soft defence

I think Hiroti would be the one who goes up though. He’s looking strong. Some strong hit ups in the lead up to tries
I'm on board with that, 100%

I watched most of the first half. Tuku was killing it yesterday, Gabrael very good… but so were the whole team. Strange game, the Jets were just making metres at will. Hosking and back rowers had them very much on the front foot.

Taj Ford also great in the 6…. He should be in our top 30. He’s a genuine challenger to Nicho on the attacking front at least. Probably different if he had to make 30 tackles like Nicho… most of the Raiders tries were down the Ford-Gabrael side... but could still be a bench weapon

Obviously it evened up late in the game

Hard to draw too much from it, given how lopsided it was early

Hiroti 18 runs for 194m, 9 tackle breaks, 1 try, 1 try assist

As above though, Raiders were awful

Hiroti needs to be in the 19 every week. He provides backline cover, and is someone we can afford to miss a bunch of games weeks as his development is less important to us. Chances are from that position he'll get a few games across the season and might be able to prove he deserves the spot.

Yes good point. He also is quite likely to get injured the more minutes he plays… and he comes back strong without constant game time. Good to give him a full 80mins this week though
