Official Newtown Jets + Sharks Pathways 2026

im hoping we dont see him play. the young guns should get first dibs and he can fill any voids when theres no one else left
Sure, if they are good enough.

No point making the rest of the guys developing through Jets be held back by weaker teammates just because Morgan Harper isn’t the future.

He’s not going to be in Jets best possible backline, but how often will they get to use that.

Yeah. You still want the best players to play.

I think Harper is the new Eli Clark. Will start plenty of games because they don't have their best 1-5 available, but will also slide to the bench, 18th man or miss out a few times.

Most of the Sharks guys we expect to claim spots on the Jets are all Flegg aged, so it's not the end of the world if they start in Flegg and come up in a couple of months. The only guy I would be upset to see stuck behind Harper/Rajab is Ford. Too old for Flegg; too good for 3rd grade.

He played some wing at the Warriors too.

I’m hoping to see Williams on the left wing eventually. Might be Harper to start the year though.
even though he didnt get much game time, i liked what i saw from williams. good effort, little bit firey and on on try they scored on the opposite side and he was past the poets in the ingoal to stop them running around further

He's a pest. Starts a stink almost every game. He even got in to some push and shove in the Jets trial on the weekend.

Gabrael played one Flegg game in his turning-20 year and then went to cup and never came back. Williams has done everything else to this point either younger or the same age as Gabrael. He has been picked in a lot more rep teams and won a lot more awards. On paper he's the better prospect, but he's a year younger.

Next step is to prove it against men. Hopefully he gets his chance ASAP.

So I found Kaden Garner.... coaching the u21's at Cronulla-Caringbah.

I reckon he must have suffered a bad injury. He didn't appear in any team lists after SG Ball, ether for Cronulla-Caringbah in U18/Opens or De La Salle in Harrigan Cup. He did pop up as the LeagueSafe (yellow shirt trainer) for CC's opens starting about a month after the SG Ball season. He would have been the first player picked in that team if healthy.

If he is injured, my guess would be a shoulder/pec issue. He was replaced late in the semi final loss last year after diving to his right to make a tackle. Look innocuous but he stayed down for a little while before walking back to join the team. Also - couldn't have been LeagueSafe with a busted knee or ankle.

Hope this kid is still part of the system. He's a good one.

Sharks have signed a young kid from the Sunshine Coast named Kaide Hape. Plays five-eighth or centre.

He’s currently playing u17 junior reps for Sunshine Coast Falcons (Broncos feeder). He is playing left centre in that team.

Turning 16 so would be HM’s next season.

He’s a Kiwi and would be the right age to be Shontayne’s son. No idea if this is the case though.
(Shontayne Hape was a Kiwi centre who played a little bit for the Warriors and was an absolute weapon in the ESL in the mid 2000’s).

Invite the first grade team to train with them and then put Talakai running at Harper, that may be enough for the coach not to pick him

Using my advanced FB stalking skills, I think you're right :)

HM’s lost 24-18. Were down 24-0 and had some chances late to tie it. Both teams were scrappy. Jayden Best was again one of the better Sharks.

SG Ball won 20-0. Yet another fumble-a-thon, but the Dragons were much worse. Sharks did enough to get the win. Beattie one of their best.

First win and Chad isn’t there. Might need to promote who ever the coach was .

Unless he coached via Zoom ?

I 'm not sure he was there last week either. You could see the bench fairly clearly and he wasn't there. Could have been elsewhere and just using walkie talkies.

I know the Sharks weren't great in the Parra trial but bumping DJ down to the u12's seems a like an overreaction :ROFLMAO:

I wonder if that's OG SharkCast Adam Newman.
