Suddenly Jets team will be mostly hookers next season

Based on that list and the Sharks players expected to play down they have a heap of hookers, halves and middle forwards.

Interesting that Talakai isn’t listed even though he is training with the Sharks. Might be on a train and trial Sharks deal.

Jets played Glebe in a trial on the weekend. Jets won 20- 0

Team was made up of Jets contracted players and some of our U20s who are stepping up. Eastwood is playing for Glebe this year, is there in a mentor capacity apparently.

How good does Jets v Glebe look on the field

Thanks for the update. Anyone from Glebe is allowed to play for the Jets, so Eastwood might get a game or two of the injury bug bites as hard as last season.

John Olive as in the guy who has played NRL?

Also anyone know if Hiroti is still training with us? Not named for this side or PNG team.

Newtown played another trial on the weekend. They lost 16-4 to the Bulldogs.

Jets
Tyla Tamou, Edward Aiono, Henry Patterson, John Olive, Joshua Delailoa, Isaac Thomson, Brandon Finnegan, Jackson Stewart, Matt Stimson, Harry McLellan, Sione Afemui, Lachlan Scarpelli, Pat Mafi.
Bench: Jake Olam, Jonah Ngaronoa, Addison Demetriou, Zac Woolford, Jayden Millard, Tom Caughlan, Brandon Luamanu, Zane Elsley.

Dogs
Declan Casey, Toa Mataáfa, Aaron Schoupp, Cleveland McGhie, Lachlan Peachey, Paul Karaitiana, Jesse Marschke, Jav Pitovao, Dalton Smith, Liam Taylor, Peni Teaupa, Ben Marschke, Devontai Seumanutafa.
Bench: Wyatt Reynolds, Justin Filo, Chris Patolo, Billy Mozer, Ryan Gray, Auzzie Tuwhangai, AJ Rehab, Adam Rizk.

A few interesting names for the Dogs. Declan Casey is a Sharks junior, Ryan Gray is a gun (I think possibly a former Aus schoolboy) and they have a guy named Rehab. Tough name.

I also appreciate the name Auzzie for a kiwi/islander
Not sure about that last guy though, they are taking a rizk on him

Both pretty light on teams with the NRL sides trialling too.

Lachlan Peachey also interesting for Bulldogs (Tyrone's brother, played for Kurnell).

Relevant excerpts
Six minutes after half-time, the Jets got on the board when prop Wes Lolo crashed over next to the posts. Centre Addison Demetriou converted for a 14-6 scoreline.

A minute later, Lolo fumbled the ball in-goal in trying to ground it from a grubber kick.

The Jets hit back when forward Monty Raper pounced on a grubber kick to score next to the posts. Jonah Ngaronoa converted the try to leave Newtown trailing 20-12 with 17 minutes remaining.

Newtown were in again seven minutes later when Brock Gray crashed over out wide for a 20-16 scoreline.

The Jets drew level when Henry Patterson raced away to score under the posts. Ngaronoa converted to give the Jets a 22-20 lead with three minutes remaining.

Newtown secured victory when winger Lorenzo Mulitalo scored in the right corner inside the final minute for the 26-20 scoreline.

Based on the depth we had against Manly trial game yesterday, I'd be hoping the Jets are in for another good season.

the jets team will be incredible

i would have backed us to win if connor and trindall were in the side but trindall and williams will still be able to arve up with that forward pack and the backs we will have

Yeah it's going to be a good team. Curious to see what the Round 1 line up will be but you must assume a few positions are locked in

Ferris - centre
Hiroti - wing
Katoa - wing if not starting
Trindall - halfback
Wilton, Talakai and Sorenson - edge forwards
Bakuya - when fit middle forward, others Milne
Hunt - prop
Pele - Bench Prop
Raper ?

Raper ?

Kyle Paterson, Wes Lolo
Tom Hazelton, Lonnie Mulitalo
Brock Gray seems like he will hold a spot (played for us in PNG and Jets last weekend, scored), Connor Luhan also got a run with Sharks in PNG so could stay in Jets 17
John Olive maybe
Zac Woolford good chance of a bench spot

Lot of big boys named though, someone might get squeezed out

Still no idea where Cruz is - no mention of injury, no look into any trials games

Jets team is below. Good old Addison Demetriou just keeps on popping up.

Tyla Tamou, Lorenzo Mulitalo, Addison Demetriou, Vito Tevaga, Joshua Delailoa, Jayden Millard, Brandon Finnegan, Wes Lolo, Kyle Paterson, Thomas Hazelton, Matt Stimson, Jayson Bukuya, Kayleb Milne.

Bench:
Isaac Thomson, Connor Luhan, Brock Gray, Zac Woolford, John Olive, Jonah Ngaronoa, Tom Caughlan, Monty Raper, Henry Patterson, Harry McLennan

After seeing how Bomber managed the first grade team last year, I think Tracey and Magoulias will stay up whether they play or not, and the Jets will start the year with the Williams/Trindall combo.

Not including guys who played in the Manly trial, Carr (injured), Vaquez and CTA are all also to come into this team.
