Managed another way around.

I like the song...........Anthemic........good stuff.

To be frank though, I can't see the Club going for it because of the style of music, re: this post.

If it had less treble in the guitar, a touch more bass in the mix, a touch less punk, a touch more rock, and a stronger quality recording (particularly drums and vox), you might have more chance of them listening to the song rather than the music.

Remember that these guys at the Club are unlikely to be musos, so probably wont be able to hear the song behind the music..........If you know what I mean.

I reckon it's got good sing-a-long potential.

do u guys know anyone with "pro tools"?
I agree with Buz, if it was presented in a more marketable mastered mix, IMO it would be a cracker.

I liked it, but then played it for the missus and she didn't...Go figure.
Anyway, I can't see why the club couldn't take it on as even a say 3 year marketing strategy....
Even just play it at a few home ground games and let the fans decide weather it sinks or swims.....
I could see a few bums out of there seats as that song is cranked and the team runs out on the field....Certainly couldn't hurt.....Help get back a bit of life and feeling into the ground....

Actually if the Sharks club had showed interest I wouldn't have minded doing another version of it.You could say in its current form it's just a guideline to what I think a team song should sound like. The proper studio recorded CD sounds way better than what you hear on computer speakers though. Thanks for your input.I'm interested to know what the fans think.

Totally agree with ya buz. Too punk for mine to be an anthem. Nice song though and with some reworking to more of a rock song definitely has potential. Drums fall out of time a touch at the very end, just before the sharkie sharkie sharkie oi oi oi bit.

I've had a lot of people tell me to send it to the Footy Show, in fact the Sharks marketing guy that I talked to a few years back also suggested it.Could be the best way to get it out there.

Yeah maybe they get you to do a live on stage performance of the song, how good would that be? Certainly better then Eric Grothe Jr every second week! :p

"the sharks will never die" this resignates considering we might be close to goin bankrupt. i will honestly say the song didnt punch me in the nose, but i like a bita old skool punk and without baggin roll out the barrel, its a step up on the current (and only)sharks tune. definately keep tryin to get it out there man.

I like it! Play that, followed by the Fooeys the "the pretender"as they run out,&that would vibe the crowd up better than F&cking Glen Wheeler! Would be better played BEFORE a game&"UP UP Cronulla if they win

Was talking to a whipper snapper the other day, and somewhere in the mix he asked me what I thought about a particular Aussie 80's rock song that just came on the radio.

After telling him I think most 80's Aussie rock was, and still is shit (that song included), and after I got back home, I thought I should show him some reasons why I think most Aussie 80's rock music was (and still is) shit.

So I got out some good ol' pen and paper and wrote down for him the following:

1976-77 - The Saints - (I'm) Stranded

1989 - Toys Went Berserk - The Smiler with a Knife.

I let him know my thought that Aussie rock should have progressed leaps and bounds on the back of the Saints seminal release, however too many soft cockers went to bed with record labels and commercial radio; largely neutering and regressing the vitality that rock music, by its' very nature, should be thrusting down the throats of impressionable teens with or without adult supervision.

I let him know the Toys Went Berserk album was, and still is my favourite Aussie rock album of the 80's, and therefore a straight forward example of why I feel most Aussie 80's rock was (and still is) schlock.

Anyway... When I got back home (again) I started to reminisce and utubed (I'm) Stranded.

The utube recommendations in the right gave me this:

In that vid there's discussions about, and interviews with, the band that Bill was in (Rocks).

That's what led me back here.

Bill's the thread starter.

Toodles.

The bot is bumping old threads. Exactly what we needed to liven the place up. Old soil needs to be tilled.
