Cronulla shocked Canterbury at Ronson Field in 1986 with an 18-8 victory over the defending premiers and competition leaders. Bouncing back from 4 successive losses, the Sharks were inspired by the return of Gavin Miller to the club from England.

Michael Porter, pictured with his distinctive blue headgear, said after the game that the team had wanted to win desperately so that they didn't embarrass coach Jack Gibson again.
