I hope you are right as suggested earlier I do understand it takes time to gel and still early days. I agree he does have the footy brain and the playing smarts to direct our pack particularly around the ruck area.

FMD that was stupid of him for the role he played in the no try to flash, there was no need for him to get involved with the defender like he did
Should have went into halftime 20-6
I get the feeling he doesn't agree with going for the 2 as well

his performance today will be lost in Bird hysteria but make no mistake, he was just as influential on our win

Was huge. He made some good kicks from dummy half, was rushing up on the 6 and 7. Was unlucky to be penalised with the head clash

Agreed. We won today because 3/4 of our spine wanted to win and had what it took to win. All three of Ennis, Holmes and Bird were extremely important.

Ennis got in Maloneys head, and Maloney tried to make every play a winner to one up him. Ennis won the battle. Flawless Victory

I know a few here would like him to be captain but its kinda great that he's not and can get off the leash a bit.

Still think we'd play a truckload better with Ennis calling the shots.

Yeah Ennis likes to play what is infront of him a lot more than Gal.

I saw we were 40 out got a penalty and he went the quick tap (which got pulled back). You want a hungry player. Not a desperate player that will just take the 2 regardless of the situation. Ennis would take the right captains choice in those situations where we've found ourselves taking the 2 prematurely before

Big rep to this bloke....don't know how many stitches he copped from that head clash but it looked like about 8. The blood was flowing freely and I thought he'd be missing next week - or in the very least failed the concussion test.

To see him come back on when we started to falter was inspirational stuff and showed me that he is fair dinkum about giving his all for the club.

Reminded me of Greg Pierce in the 1978 semi-final when he refused to come off even though the top half of his jersey was soaked through with claret.

So glad we have this guy. Legend.
