Happy New Year Tragics. If you've had a **** year, I hope 2026 is a better one! If you've had an average year, I hope you keep moving forward and up! If its been a great year, may it continue! For the most part, life will always be up and down, so remember if you need, you always have a place here to chat, should you need.

Up UP!! 🖤🤍🩵🦈

I guess this is a better place to vent than the Brailey thread…

ACL MPFL MCL LCL multiple fractures, floating bones.

Next stop surgeon.

Kid who hurt him has been kicked off his team.
Wow. I have read most of the other posts about this. This is terrible.

Judging by your last line, it was a deliberate act?

Gee that's a serious amount of injuries, really feel for him.

He's a teenager from memory?

Not necessarily deliberate. I think the kid just can't tackle. It was a warm up game so both teams had good players mixed in with newbies. You've got a strong player with leg drive close to the line and a kid who has no tackle technique trying to stop him. He just grabbed his jersey and dropped onto his legs.

Yeah 17.

Booked in to see the surgeon Wednesday. Same guy the Dolphins use. Plath, Gilbert, Bostock etc.

Not 100% on the plan yet (surgery or not, or wait a bit then surgery). Might have to wait a few weeks for swelling to go down before they make a call. Good to to see an expert early though.

We're all hoping for the best here mate 🙏 🙏

That’s terrible for both of you. Hopefully he can stay involved through coaching or similar while the rehab happens
Yeah he club coach will get him involved somehow. For school the coach has already let us know that they will still do a jersey presentation for the main carnival this year. Someone else will play halfback but he will be presented the #7 and get to keep it, plus travel with the team on the bus for all the games etc.

That’s awful mate, but you must also be very proud of your son, he sounds like a strong young man. That’s a lot for a 17 year old to go through. I hope he makes a full recovery.

In terms of the costs of it all, which I would imagine are substantial, are you out of pocket for that? Or is it covered through insurance?

He's got huge legal problems. That's all I'll say.
@Born&bred @djhabib Wish him all the best from all of us here please BnB

@Sharks NRL Prospects
Gee sorry to hear that mate. I know my son had a bit of trouble with his ACL / MCL ruptures but this is obviously much more involved
Wishing him a full recovery (and as speedy as possible - 12-18 months at a guess??).

Surgery successful. In recovery now. No ACL re-construction needed. Couldn't tell fully from the MRI what was required. Checked it out once they got in there and didn't need a full re-co 🙏

Did a bunch of other stuff. Positive news though. Doctor thinking more 6-9 Months now rather than 12+

Will have some souvenirs to bring home by way of floating bones fragments.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and @Gibs for reaching out.
