I'm a Cronulla Shark fan who moved to the US over 25 years ago, but still watch most of the games on my computer. I know absolutely zilch about Max Bradbury. What position does he play? Age? Height? Weight? What are his strengths/weaknesses in his game? Really optimistic for the Sharks season ahead. Like Coach Fitz and the pragmatism he displayed consistently last season. Fins up!

Cool mate, I was up in Georgia the past 6 years, recently moved back to Aus. I enjoyed the games at 5am on perhaps not-too-legal sports streaming sites.

Bradbury is a prop, was in U19's last year. Newcastle fans are really salty about losing him, they rate him highly. Played in the U19 NSW game last season, made 136 metres in 46 minutes. His hitups were good, seemed to play high tempo I guess and look for quick play the balls. In defence he looked to like getting right up in their face, good line speed. Good to watch. I would define him as potentially "harmen".

Height and weight I don't know officially, seemed taller than say a Gallen but shorter than say a Fifita. But big enough. Might be a real good one. Or might not, hard to say with young props I guess.

On an alternate note, with the Dolphins around now can we even say fins up?

EDIT: I just found out about Dykes maybe doing an ACL, in before this player trade never happens now...

Thx for your response. In regards to the newcomer Dolphins in the NRL, Sharks are still the alpha predators in the water - we can say "fins up". I happen to also be a serious Miami Dolphins fan as well. It's a bit weak how the NRL has copied the NFL in naming teams after NFL teams, eg Broncos, Raiders, Panthers, Cowboys, Saints, Titans, used to have Steelers, and now we can add the Dolphins. (Plus the Giants, Lions, Eagles in the AFL) to name more than a few off the top of my head. How about a bit more originality like we saw with names like the Rabbitohs and the Roosters...
Disappointed to hear about Dykes and the ACL. I used to sit next his grandma (Adam Dykes' mom) at Shark Park in the old days before coming to the US. Kade makes me feel very old - LOL, his Dad was a very good player.

You can't really lump these together.

Broncos was deliberate. Brisbane actually consulted with the Denver Broncos. I think in-part to win a bit of mind-share from NFL fans if/when they take a look at Rugby League.

Raiders and Titans are likely copied.

The Cowboys and Steelers are obvious copies, but fit the identity/culture for those areas.

but...

The Penrith Panthers (1967) pre-date the Carolina Panthers (1993) by a 26 years. There is also a reason for calling the team the Panthers. The "Penrith Panther" is myth akin to the "Jersey Devil".

The Redcliffe Dolphins (1947) pre-date the Miami Dolphins (1966) by 19 years. The Redcliffe Dolphins are not the NRL team, but they are putting up all the money, and it is their brand. They would be mad to have a different nickname just for the NRL team.

There is no NRL team called the Saints. The St. George team takes its nickname from The Legend of Saint George and the Dragon. The St. George Dragons pre-date the New Orleans Saints by 46 years.

and...

I'm not sure the NRL would allow a team to pick a name like the Rabbitohs these days, but if they did want more of that I'm all for the NZ team changing their name to the Possum Trappers.

Who would you say is the first name change needed for political correctness? We're due one in league, surely

Probably the Raiders. Some idiot will say that Viking raids are associated with rape, murder and kidnapping. 40m morons on Twitter will agree, and the team will end up as the Canberra Green Goannas.
