Id argue that he has to 'overplay' because Moylan can't organise, control and create - so everything has to come through Hynes.
When we're not scoring points you can see Hynes getting frustrated and flustered which then causes him to overplay because he knows if he doesn't then no one can/will
The Moylan brigade is the new Townsend brigade they will die off and fall in line like good boys

For now Moylan has a cushy role next to Hynes, it’s when we play the good teams it’s more evident ; every time Moylan has a basic game the cheer girls get extra happy

The argument around Townsend and Moylan are similar, but in the sense that this place has filled these arguments with strawmen.

Over the course of this season. The conversation has evolved from "A) Tricky may offer more than Moylan v B) Moylan is doing well at the role he's asked to play". Into level 2 "A) Tricky is going to fix our defense, unlock hynes, kick us out of trouble and do everything Moylan does but better and win us the comp v B) Moylan lovers just accept mediocrity and love moylan so much that he can't do anything wrong.

We end up with everyone arguing at level 2 when no one actually holds those opinions.

It's the exact same thing that happened with Chad. You can't say something positive or negative about Moylan or Tricky without being cast into a brigade, and it's infuriating. There ends up with no nuance to the argument.

Townsend is a premiership winning half back and Moylan has state of origin experience. They most be excellent players. In all seriousness, they are both fine as part of a strong spine for different reasons.

Townsend as an organiser with a creative 5/8, hooker and full back is perfectly fine (we had this when we wont the premiership). Just like Moylan is fine (if he makes his tackles) with Kennedy and Hynes playing well. We need Brailey to lift and play to his potential. In saying that I can see Hynes, trindall, Kennedy and Brailey also being a good combo in the longer term. Just don't expect Townsend to be your go to person under pressure and don't expect Moylan to take the big moments.

Yeah no arguments from me. Same for Tricky, he's a very promising young half and I'd love to see him get an extended run to show what he can do next to Nicho.

I'm curious to see where Dykes fits into this. He's most certainly part of our future and with how Kennedy is playing at Fullback I dont see him taking that spot anytime soon.

I assume he'll start next year for the Jets but where is his long term position. The club might see him as the future 5/8th with Hynes.

Dykes,Trindall,Hynes,Kennedy

What a mad bunch of players, I think it only works if Dykes gets made into a centre or Tricky gets made into a 13

One of the halves spots will need to get taken and I can’t see Kennedy losing the fullback spot for a while

Dykes is the future 6. Trindall will either play out his career as 2nd fiddle, go to a bottom rated team as their best half or go to Superleague and kill it.

More likely of Trindall to 13 than Dykes to centre imo

I hear the coach state in an interview a couple of weeks ago he respects that Moylan & one other (Kennedy?) accept they play supporting roles to Nicho in this team & they are doing it well; I then watch Moylan go out & play a supporting role as per the coaches instructions.

Moylan keeps getting picked as he is playing the role Fitzy wants.

You'll be cast as a cheergirl with that sort of talk.

Mozza has so often come across as a bit of a smirking mong it's sometimes easy to forget how much experience he has and how capable he is of putting on a professional display which is what the last few weeks have been for him but especially against the Knights.

His timing and passing when running into the line is at a consistently high level and reaps us rewards every week in attack.

You can see lately him starting to get his defense back to where it used to be which was actually rather good.

1 Missed tackle against the Knights playing in the halves is a good effort and it's not just stats you could see it in the game the effort and attention he gave to making strong tackles and being where he needed to be.

Also good to see him fired up and barking orders, I love it when this bloke is switched on with focus & intensity in his eyes. He does more for the team than probably given credit for in terms of coordination and off the ball stuff.

Also sometimes it is Mozza coming up with a cool headed play that saves our bacon

Plenty complain about his kicking game but he kicks as much as he needs to and when it's required. He actually executes his little bombs rather well (how often does he get them wrong?) and seems to get quite a few positive results from them for a guy that apparently doesn't have a kicking game.

Occasionally puts in a good grubber too.

I'm just calling it how I see it, I've bagged this bloke out more times than I can remember each and every season he has been here but have also given the credit when it's due (funny how that works).

I reckon he actually takes more pressure off Nicho than a younger less experienced Trindall would while not cramping Nicho's style or stopping him getting his hands on the ball as much as he wants. You throw in Trindall and I bet you Nicho still wants to play his game the same way with just as much involvement.

The question has been asked, can we go all the way with the Mozza and win the big games and moments? Play to our potential and ability across the park in attack and defense and don't put ourselves under unnecessary pressure, sure why not.

Play like plebs with bad discipline, line speed and attitude and it won't matter who is in the number 6 jersey.

If Mozza is a flat track bully then fmd give him a flat track to work with!

Alot of would have never thought we could go all the way with Chad.

Well Chad had Maloney

And Mozza has Hynes

In his defence, he is from Penrith.

Its elite. You notice when he's not in the team we usually don't find ourselves doing many of those shcmick backline plays. With Moylan we can be in position in a tackle or two.

We gotta remember too that Moylan is playing a limited role, per Fitz requests. Fitz mentioned Moylan has had to sacrifice some parts of his game to play the role he does.

I think Tricky is better than you're giving him credit for here. He's going as well as O'Sullivan was in cup and he transitioned well into firsts full time before his injury. I think Trick can make a good career in the NRL, and there's no reason why decent teams after a half wouldn't be interested in him. Having him, Dykes, even Puru and Atkinson fighting for that future spot has us in a great place.
