1st touch in 8 weeks is a try assist

he stays on the bench for me, metcalf has earned that 6 jersey
Against a tired tigers side down by 20. Let’s see him do that that against a a top side.
Agree stay with starting Metcalf and Trindall.

Metcalf worked his magic against that same diabolical tigers side that Moylan did. The good news is that Moylan did make that line break and didn't hurt himself doing it as well. Most halves in the game won't do that sort of thing too often against the best sides.

Metcalf has alot to prove against top sides as well, especially as every opposition club will have a tip sheet on him now and be watching him closely in the game

Working against Moylan and in Metcalfs favour is kicking - is Moylan ever going to do it again or is it just too much of a risk with his legs?

Can't have it both ways mate, Trindall and Metcalfe all played the same team.

Moylan's step and vision were surprisingly sharp off of no footy and an injury, regardless.

Don't think it's having it both ways. He came on when the game was pretty much over against a team that didn't seem to give a ****, at that stage anyway.

Good differentiation - Metcalf played a role in getting us to the point of game that we were in control with all the running and there was less pressure on Moylan by the time he came on and tigers were even more demorolised and disinterested even if they still had a chance to fight back at the point Moylan came on was going to be much tougher for the tigs from there.

but really the tigers were horrendous from about the 5th minute onwards. they never give a **** about important games to make the finals. theory is that the tigers players like an earlier and longer off season. but I read Madge made them train hard through the finals series last season hahaha lol

They'd be a **** club to follow!

Trindall and Metcalf are also young and very green.

It's our own fault for putting our faith in him again.

Barring injuries he should play for the Jets next year. And if they're too worried about his body, keep him in cotton wool.

Was off the pace, which isn't surprising with the game time he's had in the past three months

Tried to hard, was supposed to be the level head. If he doesn't make those two dumb errors in the first half we probably lead at half time.

Errors can happen but we really needed him to step up and take charge in that second half. We really lacked a senior leader once the chips were down.

Huge mistake re-signing this fraud

100% agree.

He has been dead wood for years, seems to go against everything they are trying to bring to the club with Cam and Finucane.

Rarely kicks now anyway. Would rather put the extra effort into Metcalf who looks far more lethal and is still improving.

Fair call. My only thinking is that they want some experience in the halves next year as a bit of a transition / changing of the guard. I can't think of any other reason.

My thoughts also.
If Metcalf can bide his time for one more season I think he will be rewarded with a regular spot in our 17.
