Connor ain't no centre, he ain't a half and he ain't no fullback.

Happy that the coach has recognised this and bought in the outside backs, Tracey is a great utility..
Yes it sort of has reached its natural conclusion. Although he never really got a great number of games in the one Position, 14s the right spot.

A utility who is bad everywhere and contributed nothing to being one of our most important players in attack (assuming you value tries)
Yep, I saw Connor as a nutcase with no fear for his own health. Exactly the way our forwards should have been playing. And he's really quick.

Apart from having no distinct position to fall into, and not being able to pass backwards, I thought he was one of our most exciting players last season. Things lit up when he had the ball.

Plenty of backhanded compliments but that's Connor for me.

Tries - pfft. Anyone can score tries. What's really valuable is being the guy who makes the last pass on a 6 pass backline movement.

Agree. He's a footballer. NRL positions are very rigid so he is a square peg in a round hole - but a good coach will figure out how to adjust the way the team plays to take advantage of him. I personally really liked him at wing. His contribution coming out of his own end was fantastic. I'm just not a fan of just trying to slot him in saying "go play this position like this other bloke does". It wont work.
He's good when he slots in just not great
I think the above is the consensus.

I think everyone agrees in a fully fit 13 he's going to be something like the 3rd choice FB, the 5th or 6th choice 3/4, the 4th or 5th choice half, and the 3rd or 4th choice hooker. Given that you rarely see your best 13, Connor will play a lot.

Since we are in the Berrell thread though, I'm going to pump his tyres again. My feeling is that Connor Tracey is either in the 13 or he is injury cover. In a game where you don't get injuries he doesn't fit as a bench player. If the plan is for McInnes to play as a running forward and to carry a bench hooker to give Brailey a rest for 20-25, I'll take Berrell over Tracey.

Isn’t this the Hiroshima thread?

I have no personal view on Berrell just what has been said on here and I’d also take Berrell over Tracey as a bench hooker.

Although if Tracey was bench and no injuries I think probably more likely he comes into the middle and McInnes moves to hooker for a bit if we are giving Blayke a spell

Whoops - Ikuvalu thread.

This scenario is fine too.

All the chat about other stuff got his thread into p4 in quick time. Trending.
Well in the interest of getting the post count up even more, I’ll throw Trindall’s name into the mix for that bench spot too. He also offers more than Tracey in a non-injury situation as a 9 or a ball-playing middle. Lots of options there.

Ok. Only Ikuvalu talk in here from now on. Sorry.

Was watching his interview on NRL.com.au he seems like a friendly lad. Has some serious size to him. I have no doubt he will get some reasonable game time this year. Good luck to him!
