Official Liam Ison

Have we had this bloke euthanised?

Seriously though, can we get a ****ing update Cronulla?
Sam said on his podcast last night that the official status is that they are taking it extra cautious with him as he is a long term prospect.

He also said there has been some hurdles in recovery (eg swelling)

Thanks mate, I do appreciate Sam's insights but at the same time it'd be nice to get something official from the club.

It’s also getting to the point where Taj Ford deserves to keep his spot.

Probably not too much of an issue while Niwhai is also out because Ford can just keep playing 6. If Niwhai comes back dropping Ford for Ison would be a tough call.

If Ford and Niwhai are both playing well in Cup throw Ison on a wing if you have to, just get him running on the park against men for a while. he can worry about winning the fullback spot once he has some games under his belt or if/when a chance presents itself.

This is sounding like Kade Dykes all over again.
Little bit harsh on ison, dykes time at the sharks was riddled with injury over a couple years. but seeing this is his first major injury and they see him as a long term option doesn’t make sense to rush him back.

I think the issue isn't people want him rushed back and rather it's now been 13 months since he did his ACL and he's not back.
He is well beyond the window for rushed.

Agree this is just one instance and we don't really have clear info on why it has blown out, but given recent history I can see why people would be concerned it is Dykes all over again.

I think the club is too, which is why they’re being cautious

Yeah it is both completely understandable but at the same time, we don't have all the info to completely understand it haha

I don't have an issue with caution, but recently history makes a need for caution concerning

Yeah. That's what I was thinking too. That or bench and just use him for the last 20. If the injury drags on past April having him playing 3rd grade for a week or 2 is also an option.

Reached out to Riccio on instagram, he's going to get an update for me
