Cronulla has signed 18-year-old former Australian Schoolboys rugby union player Daniel Roach - son of Steven Roach - to a one-year deal, with Daniel to start in the Sharks' Jersey Flegg team.
A contract dispute with French team Le Catalans means Parramatta recruit Ian Hindmarsh won't be able to start the season in the NRL.
And the NRL has announced a long-term sponsorship deal with betting agency Tabcorp.
