Hey Lads,

The off season is a bit quiet at the moment so thought i would open up a thread to see everyone's predictions for next seasons ladder and discuss who we think will improve/slide up/down the ladder.

Personally i think Souths will really struggle next year after Losing 2x Burgess Brothers and Sutton. I believe they'll finish around 11th. Cook, Murray, Reynolds are great players but there forwards just lack quality imo.
I think the Cowboys will improve and sneak into the 8 just, It will them or the donkeys who come 8th i reckon. Val will come good, Drinkwater at 6 will carve up and i think you'll see Reece Robson take over thew starting 9 over granville.
The Warriors will produce the same **** they always do and remain in the bottom 8 as will St Merge and the Titans.
I reckon the Eels will sky rocket next year after some smart signings in the forwards and also there halves have a full off season together. On paper they can win the comp imo.
Roosters again will be up there even with the loss of Cronk.
Melbourne should slide but with Bellamy as coach anything is possible. But fmd they've lost chambers, scott, croft, stimson (possibly ADDO-CARR) and Vunivalu if he can, will leave a year early to get up to the reds in union.
If Manly has a better run with injuries they'll be right up there.
Donkeys will be in similar position but just miss out or just sneak in over the cowboys.
The Raiders next put 2 good years together but i think Sticky has enough Internationals now that they will be right up there again.
Penrith i don't think will come near the 8, especially with Maloney now gone. They will struggle in the halves.
Tigers will do what they usually do and just miss out.
The bulldogs have not signed anyone that will make much of an impact so i will say they'll stay where they are.
The Knights could be anything next year with a new coach and another off season together so i reckon they'll jump into the 8.
Sharks, well who knows. If we can keep our spine on the field, find a goal kicker and actually play to our potential we can give it a bit of shake.

Here is what i think will be next years Ladder:

1. Eels
2. Roosters
3. Sea Eagles
4. Raiders
5. Sharks
6. Storm
7. Knights
8. Cowboys
9. Broncos
10. Tigers
11. Souths
12. Bulldogs
13. Warriors
14. St George
15. Panthers
16. Titans

Every off season when we do these threads most people always predict Melbourne will slide and every year they prove a lot of people wrong. It never happens, you lot never learn. Melbourne to be top 2 again. I’ll have a proper crack at the ladder later.

So many variables... one major injury can derail an entire season and still a lot of movement could occur potentially
but maybe something like

1. Roosters
2. Storm
3. Eels
4. Sea Eagles
5. Raiders
6. Sharks
7. Knights
8. Cowboys
9. Souths
10. Broncos
11. Tigers
12. Warriors
13. St George
14. Bulldogs
15. Panthers
16. Titans

If JAC and Vuvuzela left I could see Storm dropping a few places (edit: as per CMs post above I think they are still a top 2 worthy side at the moment, but another two starting backs leaving on top of who has already gone I think they'd drop a bit)
Depending where Mitchell and JAC land obviously could boost a few teams up too.
Shake up to Raiders halves with Sezer leaving could backfire if the pom doesn't work out, I expect they still make the 8 but could drop a few places.
Teams rarely go forward first year with new coach but Knights are a bit of a mystery - I don't think they'd be top 4 or in the bottom couple but could end up pretty much anywhere 5-14 depending on if they figure their **** out or not

Yeah I hear ya. I think it’s more wishful thinking than anything

8. sharks
9. broncos
10. panthers

Pretty much the usual ‘haves’ versus ‘have nots’

I think yr right on the Eels, but Manly wont make the 8

If everyone stays healthy (and plays to potential) DCE and Turbo behind their two props and Jurbo could give them a really good season

Des has them firing and wanting to play for each other.
if they stay injury free they can give it a good crack.
a lot though is riding on whats happening with their hooker Mainu
if he's out for the year with his court trial ect then it's a different ball game.

That's true I forgot about that - he'll definitely have some impact one way or another

yeah only reason i think it will have such a massive impact is cause they've lost Api Korisau and legit have no depth in the 9 (from what i've read they'll be using Cade Cust or Lachlan Crocker as a makeshift 9)

Knights in 6th? Bunnies in 10th and 15th?

Really Chad? Explain yourself.

Hard day at the office mate. ****ed that up didn't I?
Can't be arsed doing it again now, I'll do it again later.

Seriously though I don't think the Rabbits are going to have a good season.
It would not surprise me if they end up down there.

In your head, rent free
storm will finally slide, roosters wont be as fierce, rabbits will drop as will the raiders

manly are 50/50 but will be around the same as last year, big chance for us to get back into the top 4

2 Panthers and 2 Rabbits teams
Both Bulldogs and Dragons missing out.
Have you started the NRL's "rationalisation" plan early?
